I agree with you. Congress may not have to go as far as impeachment.
If he gets certain legal assurances against himself and his family he will just walk away, resign. This ego driven maniac does not want the impeachment asterisk next his name. No way, no how.

The problem for the democrats is that once they actually vote to give authority for impeachment. They have put a campaign target on their backs.

Those 40 seats that they took in the midterms are not a sure thing.

Right now. Not counting the 3 empty seats. The republicans only need to retake 18 to create gridlock in the house.

Democrats moving forward with the vote then actual impeachment risks motivating the republican base in all those states.

So. It poses a logistics problem for the democrats.

Keep your head down and admire the shot.

your post assumes Trump has committed some kind of crime while in office, of which there is no evidence and no motive......

His own Chief of Staff told us that the conversation with the President of Ukraine was a quid pro quo and that they do it all of the time and we should just get over it. That is a high crime and misdemeanor.

How much more evidence do you need when his own Chief of Staff admitted to a crime? Gimme a break! Have you lost your mind?
Let me say it again.
Trump's chief of Staff, Mulvaney, told us all that they engage in quid pro quos with foreign leaders all of the time. Got it?

Pretty good. Mueller report? What can't you understand?

Over a hundred counts of collusion and ten counts of obstruction and Mueller said that he "cannot exonerate Trump.". Why you discount these conclusions is remarkable since that is what the "witch hunt" is all about.

They have the witch by the big toe and they ain't letting go.

It's called oversight guaranteed by our Constitution as one of the powers for checks and balances afforded our Legislative Branch. Congress is simply standing by their oaths.

Our President thinks our Constitution is just a piece of paper and that his oath are just words they made him repeat.

You guys are going to be crying about Trump until he leaves office at the end of his second term.

Of course at that point Evanka will be our first Jewish female president.

Then you can come out of the closet and start screaming about dem Jews.

Mueller's job was to find evidence necessary to be able to charge Trump with collusion and/or obstruction. After spending $35M and taking over two years to investigate the charges he was not able to make a guilty determination on either charge, or he surely would have done so. Period! If he/they believed that further investigation would reveal a different outcome, the investigation would have continued. It did not. Words and phrases like "possibly" and "cannot exonerate Trump" are rhetorical and are used after a defeat to make it appear as though it something less than a total defeat...but the investigation is over, no charges were filed, and it was nothing less than a total and complete defeat. Get over it if you can...or consider therapy.

Philly, sorry, while I cannot find the evidence required to make a guilty determination of mass murderer charges against you, nor can I exonerate you.

Mueller was straightforwardly told by Barr, his boss, that he could not indict the President. So he said that he could not exonerate him. That's the real story. Period.

The real story is that you and others do not believe in due process.
Especially when the results do not meet your expectation.
