Would make a great 2nd lathe for parts machining though.

The advertised spindle through hole is 1.5"- big enough for cuemaking. http://www.boltontools.net/11-x-28
Search the forums for a way to add a steady rest on the left and you can do quite a few operations on it.
Unfortunately, the bed is too short to taper full shafts & butts.

Maybe this Help

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EISEN-1236G...223700?hash=item35f71e4894:g:3-wAAOSwf-VWaMY~

EISEN 1236GH Bench Lathe with DRO & Stand, Made in Taiwan, Single-Phase 220V

I bought this lathe last year. For the price and how well this machinery was put together is more than what I need. For the price what you are about to pay for the one in your first post picture and comparing the price. I think you better off getting this Esien lathe. This Lathe is made in Taiwan, very good machinery and have very good electronic parts in this lathe.
