Seems I recall Mosconi doing a televised exhibition where he no shot except a bank. Willie was asked now what?
He replied something to effect* they dont have to go straight in. There is rubber on the rails for a reason. This is a simple shot.*

Does this ring a bell with anyone? If so source?

I dont have the answer to your question, but from what I know this is something Willie would say. I dont consider him a great teacher (explainer), things just came too easy for him.

I know I am veering off the topic - but to follow up on Michael 4
I read were willie was asked about Deflection / squirt
His response was - something to the effect of.
I don't know about all that I just now we're to hit the ball
And I hit exactly were I need to.
If I can track it down I will post it.
