us open format not legit for history - 05-06-2019, 03:36 PM

after some serious thought the new us open format is not legitimate because, mika won two us opens after losing and fighting his way back and winning.. This was an unbelievable accomplishment not included in the discussions. History is only accurate if the format is the same and the evolution of the equipment is another topic. Let go back to the old format and history can be legitimate. Love the us open best tournament in the world.

yeah. And superbowls haven't been legit since instant replay. And Stanley cup winners are false since they redid the rules. And college football champions are all wrong now. And chess world champions are not valid either. And on and on and on.

Times change. We all gotta keep up.

-td <-personally, I think this year was the best 9-ball format ever

I donít agree with your reasoning.....but if it makes you feel any better...
...both guys in the finals had lost a match early.

Golf...do you think they play the Opens on the same courses as the past?
...or the same number of rounds?

Everyone got paid.
It was shown to a worldwide audience.
No dogs and singing.
No tds running a book on the side.
Etcetera.......

Im going to go out on a limb and say
it was a true pro event run by professionals.

Regardless of the format this may just be
the best one yet.

Guess we better erase all World Series wins by Amer.League teams 'cause they don't play "real" baseball by using the DH. C'mon man, really????? The World 3-Cushion Champ. has changed format numerous times as has the WorldSnooker Champ. Anyone cryin' foul about this? UH, no.

Yes, it's different. Best to embrace the change. Matchroom has shown the way.

Bob Dylan was right when he observed that "the times they are a changin," and it's your every right to prefer the past, but in pool and in life, time marches on and things change.
