Definitely add to that list another true gem by our departed and sorely-missed friend, Freddy “The Beard” Bentivegna -- his historic, fabulously entertaining (and informative) “The Encyclopedia of Pool Hustlers”:

RIP Freddy.

Tom- I think if you check with Bob he added my book "Do It For The Game" to that list. I believe it used to be on the FAQ page.

...and then, of course, there's Mark Wilson's textbook, Play Great Pool! Jay Helfert's Pool Wars 2 will be out soon!

One that sort of belongs on this list because it has stories about specific shots and has recently been reprinted (with diagrams in color, now) is Bob Byrne's "Treasury of Trick Shots in Pool and Billiards".

"Running The Table" is available in audio format from Audible. I just finished listening to it for the second time. Recommended.

McGorty is a classic. Very funny and gives you a flavor for what it was like to hang out in pool halls in the 30's.

Walter Tevis's two novels should be read by everyone here. But you might not know he wrote a very good short story about a pool hustler. I read it in Playboy back in the late 80's but I can't remember the title.
