What's nice, this makes each pool room event much more exciting for the winner.

By Country

Here's the list so far grouped by country. A little less than 1/3 US players.

I bet Mike Page is just about to post the Fargo-ranked list... :)

I'm surprised there's none from Mainland China yet.
Also I'd expect more from Poland.
....and just to be pedantic. I wouldn't class Appleton, Immonen and Kobayashi as being from USA.

Me neither. Also, I thought Lo Li Wen was Japanese.
I think he was born in Taiwan but moved to Japan.

I see a lot of new names on the list and a lot of top players not entered yet. We may end up with some monsters on the waiting list.

Curaçao leads the list list of countries for largest percentage of population entered.

So far 37 different countries and 3 unstated.
When did Appleton become a US citizen?

Lo Li Wen played on Team Japan at the 2013 Wold Cup of Pool, partnered with Oi Naoyuki. Perhaps he is a dual citizen of Taiwan and Japan.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_World_Cup_of_Pool

Lo Li Wen is certainly not a normal japanese name -Most are 3 syllables or plus-Suzuki, Okimora, Hiroshi, Yoshioka while each part of a Chinese name is usually one syllable-never heard of 3. There may be an exception or two but 95% plus on both those 'rules'

Point well taken. Thanks for your insights.

I feel one who is fluent in Japanese reading, writing, and speaking should be honored
with the equivalent of a PHD....Japanese might be the most complicated language ever.
...no wonder many of them like to be known by the Chinese way of reading their name.

Here's the updated list by country, with the players in the FargoRate top 350 (the list I have available) indicated in bold with their Fargo ranking.

I think 40 of the FargoRate top 100 are on the list so far.

12 of the FargoRate top 25 are on the list - 3 of them are Filipino.

6 of the FargoRate top 10 are on the list - 2 of them are Filipino.

Looks like the field is going to a very watered down version of this year's event. I'm thinking they should automatically invite the top 100 players from Fargo or World rankings and give them the first opportunity to sign up. It's not good if half the top 100 players in the world are no shows.
