If there was a poolcon (like comic con) and there were all kinds of billiard related people there, who would you want to get an autograph from.

My top favorites would be

Dr. Cues Protege
The guy who moved from KY to NC and got banned

I wouldn't mind meeting some of the best pool players or watching them, but autographs from them don't mean much to me.

What is an autograph good for?

What does it signify?

That you met someone in person?

Pool players, no matter how well they play, don't awe me.

it would probbly be a gret deal of fun for some people to
have an autograph

i used to get things signed by famous athletes like dok walker,
Kyle Rote, Mickey Mantle etc

just seeing their pictures id a pleasure and brings back memories.
My friend Dennis Glenn had many of the famous pictures of the all
and even got extras signed that he put
together and gave a set to each of the
great players
personalized by the player to the recipiant.

ie Billy Incardone recived a picture from Jersey Red made out to him.
Red got onefrom Billy time great pool pla

Some treasured these pictures highly, others discarded the pictures
without acknowledging the time trouble or labor of love that Denny pt into
helping them

I don'tknow how many guys on az that would enjoy these.

Funny ,I have a picture of my mother,signed I love you,Janie.

It wasn't from her to me ,but to her mom when she was about 20

I enjoy looking at it all the time

Have fun here, don't worry about a few that don't like your post. would you believe they
even dislike some of mine too

I have autographs of almost everyone who ever played the game at a high level, or was involved deeply in the sport over a 30 year span.
I used to go to a lot of tournaments and would take pictures and get an autograph and sometimes talk to the players . I had a great time ,

I remember all but 2 of them with great memories, like it was yesterday, and it's one of my favorite things about my pool experience.
One of my favorite storys about an autograph ,involved Bucktooth Cook.
He was holding court in the lobby of the casino at DCC several years back, with an audience of about 25 or 30 pool denizens and wannabes.
I went up and asked him for his autograph, figuring there would probably be some snide remarks. {I never gave a shit what strangers thought of me anyway, the people who matter to me ,all know who and what I am or am not.}
Anyway , I think most of them were too surprised to think and Bucktooth says he doesn't sign anything.
Stating that I could possibly be getting his signature and then writing an IOU or something above it and somehow try to trap him. No Way Jose!
That got about 10 snickers and a couple of guffaws, and I said thanks, I understand, and walked away.
He went back to holding court
The Tooth was such a well known person in the pool world years ago, and the new crop was getting to know him pretty quickly, so I really wanted to get his autograph, but I knew it would take some doing to get it.
I went over and got a sheet of paper and covered the whole thing with writing something like , This paper is just an autograph , it is not to be used as any type of legal document or imply anything, except that Bucktooth Cook, the famous pool player, gave me his autograph because i collect them for my own enjoyment. At the bottom I left a space just big enough for him to sign. {There was no other empty space on the paper big enough to write in}
I walked back over into the crowd, with him watching me clear across the floor, and handed him the paper. The crowd was waiting on him to chew on my as,s when he started to chuckle and said something like , I had made up my mind to never sign your autograph , but this is so clever I can't say no!

I would write it down verbatim , but it's somewhere in this house but not my autograph books, and I can't find it .
Tooth, if you are out there , can you send another one on a 8 1/2 x 11 blank piece of paper buddy? Just sign at the bottom. {Maybe he got loose in his old age? you never know}
I have Matlocks Keiths Matayas in the 80s and I got Dr. Cues in the early 90s before he ever did any of the trick shot tournaments I don't know who the other 2 people are but I might have theirs also, lol.

I set down with Willie Mosconi to get his autograph
He signed a nice picture for my son,
but we talked for 30 minutes during a lull in the signing

I treasuremy time that we spent together,I also ran into him at CJ"s
he signed a complete set of balls for me and so didjimmy Caras

I gave away the balls one at a time to customers that were thankful

I regret not keeping one,but I don't regret letting others enjoy a little piece of

yesterday.

i think the pro players would build a lot of good will if they sat at a table
,signed autographs, pictures and conversation with the patrons.

Perhaps if people got to know the players,it might be better for everyone

For $10 a signature,I bet most players would make more than they win,
nothing wrong with a profit or making a living until the ship comes in

Reverend Mike Massey because he once made 5 9 balls on the break in a race to 9 in a Rack Your Own Event.

I didn't mean to insinuate that there was anything wrong with collecting autographs. I just meant that pool players don't really fascinate me because I'm a pool player.

I have a couple autographs from pool players, but I didn't ask for them. I have Efren's and CJ's and Steve Mizarak's. I have photos of me and Allison Fisher, CJ, and Rodney Morris, but I never asked for an autograph.

I, also, have autographs from President Clinton, who I've met several times and had a photo with on a couple of occasions (one on TV), and I have a signed photograph of President Trump.

Like I said, pool players don't "awe" me and neither did President Clinton when I was talking to him. As far as I'm concerned, he was just another dude except he had a high-level job.

Agree With Hawaiian Eye

I'm going to have to agree with Hawaiian Eye; autographs hold no interest for me at this point in my life.

I do think that attitudes about this subject could be influenced by age. I did get books and CDs and various things autographed at one point in my life.

However, once you turn 60, if you don't sit down and begin to get rid of at least 80% of the "meaningful" things you've collected in a lifetime, then you are in danger of be classified as a Hoarder (part humor; part serious).

I got rid of God knows how much stuff. I took a few days. Went through stuff slowly and realized that I could effortlessly recall all those special moments, and I really did not need the keepsakes to remind me. And when I can't do that, well, the keepsakes won't help at all.

Yes, I did hang on to a very few things. They'll likely go if I make 75. I don't want to leave a bunch of my-treasures, other's-crap for someone to deal with.

That said, I did get Steve Mizerak's autograph once...
