I BOUGHT 15MM
1st one flattened out in an hour play time/practice time by myself-
NOT BREAKING Either-
shooting on a bar box by myself

Press it before installing. Finding a good Le Pro tip is hit and miss, even with the water test, you can still end up with a dud or ten... Better move on to something with better consistency.

Drop the tips in a jar of water, throw away the ones that float.

As you said Kim, even after the test, you find bad ones, only when you go to shape them unfortunately. Out of a 50 ct box you throw out about half.

Tap on a hard surface and listen to the sound they make. If you do it enough, you'll quickly figure out what the good and bad ones sound like. You can grade the hardness pretty accurately with this method too.

First are good. Second are bad. Problem is, to get the good, you have to go back to the 70s.

I thought they were all crap now. Once i discovered Ultraskin and Thoroughbred tips i quit lookin'.

I've noticed that the 15mm LePros have been very good the last few times I ordered. The smaller sizes, not so much.

I used to do tips at a pool room in Jersey back in the 80's.
The owner had a jar of 100s of Le Pro tips.
I would bite them until I found a hard one.
Rarely had to fix a mushroomed tip but did from time to time.
But every now and then one was so bad I replaced it for free.
