He loves playing/practicing. He started on one of those mini tables with 1 inch balls and now he only plays on the oversized 8 foot we have in the basement. Im a proud father! Check out his video

Looks good! The 2012 Jr Nationals was held in your area in Romnie's High Pockets, if he keeps it up he'll be playing in one of those in a few years.

Its official my boy Austin's first custom cue will be a Steve Lomax. Thank you so much for being inspired by the future generations, you are a great ambassador to our sport. Rep to you!

Matt,
Does he have his own cue? I will build him one if you let me know what size and weight would be good. This would be a gift of course no charge.

Best Wishes,

He has a 48 inch viper that he uses 24/24 around 16.5 -17oz. 12.6mm tip. Which im sure is the size he will use for probably another 5 years or so. He would light up if he had his own custom. I buy and sell used cues as a hobby and of all the cues that go through my hands he always tells me not to sell the ones with ebony points and red /black vaneers. to give you an idea of his style. This is an amazing gesture and I will make sure everyone knows how outstanding you are by sharing this story (if that's ok with you). Thank you and if you want I can help with the cost. Weather its a 4 pointer or a merry widow plain jane my boy will be thrilled. Thank you from my boy Austin and I Sincerely Matt
Matt,
I will get started on it after the 1st week of February
after the Expo.

That is a great looking cue, and very nice of Steve to make it!

My son got a cue from Steve Klapp years ago (as a gift also) and I'm sure it was one of the things that inspired him to play more.

I'm guessing that you're taking advantage of one or more of the excellent Wisconsin instructors. Gene Albrecht, Jerry Breisath and Willie Munson are among the ones I know. I played out of La Crosse from 1955 through 1987.

It's important to get him a qualified coach before he develops any bad habits!

That was fun to watch LOL, I'm guessing he's the one with the regular looking cue. Takes ball in hand, walks around, puts it back in same spot it was originally LOL. Glad they had a 9 and under category especially for these younger kids. My area junior championships are 14 and under and 15-18 so very tough for anyone in the 10 yr old range to win.
