Bobby hit me with a 42 off the opening break last night. Then he rattled a break shot.

I got up and it took me about 4 shots at a very open table to get myself in trouble.

He put me out of my misery with a 91.

The best I've seen him play. He says he has been watching snooker and getting down a bit more on his shots like he used to. Back in the day, he said he could run at least one hundred every day.

Is it one of his? Looks like an older cue.

Thanks Dennis, good to see him in stroke.

A couple things caught my attention. Twice he used a combination to open the stack, sending the front ball of the combination into the stack and keeping the cue ball from potentially getting stuck against a ball.

Then this.

Maybe I'm the only person who wouldn't see this but that was clever to play for the 2 to open the stack with the 7 on the rail as insurance.

This is what I use for marking the table. It gives a very fine line. It rubs off fairly easily and is gone by itself in a week at the pool hall.

It is also useful for marking the positions of the balls for practice.

Yeah, I had this one in my bag, too, but I needed to put a refill in, so it was not ready to go. This is one is definitely better and leaves a lighter mark on the table.

Having followed the recent main forum post - 'spin or not to spin', I found Bobby's play to be a fine example of the minimum use of CB spin. Sure, he spins a bit when necessary but for the most part he is center axis striking. I don't recall seeing a lot of high powered inside spin three rail positioning. What I did see was a nice presentation of CB control and good shot selections; nip draws, short follows, and skilled bumping were on full display. Master play for sure.

I was curious about his cue also , I watched him play at the DCC and could never get a close look at it . It is a real nice old school cue .

I'll ask again: Anybody know what kind of cue he's using? Is it one of his?
my guess it would HAVE to be one of his
dont you think it woud not be good for business if the cuemaker played with another cuemakers cue??
ie i make cues but joe's cues play better
