Fair price for tip replacement? - 07-04-2015, 11:19 AM

Just wondering what would be a fair price to replace a tip? I found someone willing to do it for $15, is this in the ballpark?

That's seems more then fair, depending on condition of the ferrule and shaft .

Does it typically cost more to install a layered tip vs single layered tips?

The going price at Fort Worth Billiards is $15.00 if I supply the tip. That is installing the tip and polishing my ferrule.

I usually charge tip price plus a whiskey and coke. I'm just a guy doing it for fun though

Sticks:
playing cue- Viking F-11 w/v-pro shaft and Kamui clear black tip
break cue- cuetec starlight w/white phenolic tip

I charge NOK 120,- wich is about $14, considering the salary is generally higher here in Norway, I should charge more.
I charge the same, ragardless if I or the customer supply the tip.

Most places around me charge $20-25 if you supply the tip. $15. is a bargain.

Why would you mes up good whiskey with coke? That stuff will give you a hangover

I wonder why. I always clean up the ferrule when I install tips, but shaft condition has nothing to do with that. If the shaft needs work that's a different job.

If winning is so easy why aren't the losers doing it?
