Like in the movie Goodfellas,when Henry says "as long as I can
remember I always wanted to be gangster". I always wanted to
be a pool hustler. I was only 15yrs old and looked. about 12,sneaking
in the Cotton Bowling Palace. Those guys were my hero's (I didn't
need a speech then and don't need one now). I took it all in. "How is
it going kid", one of the regulars would say. I'm going to win me enough
money, if I can lay off of the booze to buy me a diamond ring and
a pair of alligator shoes. I even thought of breaking my own thumbs
so I would look like the real thing. One day I see this guy standing
in the pool area with his back to me. Sport coat,nice slacks,shoes,
aha a sucker, a family man, a working man.He turns around and
OMG I know him it's DEAN. I rush over to try and save him, tell
him he's doing this all wrong. Didn't you see the movie for crying
out loud. Before long he's trapping some of my hero's. What the
Hell is going on, this is all wrong. And He's not even that good.
Even though I still carry the scars this left on me too this day,
I forgave him. I tried over and over to show him how to do it right
but he's a hard head and would not listen.
