Opinions on brands of butterfly cases?

I've had an Instroke hard tube case since forever. I'm thinking about switching to a butterfly case -- I like the look of them better than tubes and I'm curious to experience the pros and cons of tube vs butterfly. Protectiveness is important to me, as I'll have my first custom cue arriving in a few months. Price not as much. It's been tough to find reviews and first-hand info though.

Some cases I've been considering:

- Molinari flat bag: Looks like this is what Billy has (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI9Mc_TmWVI&t=1h21m12s) and based on the short time it's on camera, it looks pretty protective.
- JB: The reputation of JB's cases speak for themselves. I took a first-hand look in Vegas last year and sure enough they're great. Probably the best out there for the money, though not my personal favorite in terms of style. Their customizability is a nice plus and backpack straps especially appeal to me.
- Mezz MZ: Looks good, though maybe not as protective as others.
- GD: Hard to find info on these beyond their marketing (http://www.gd-cases.com/). They look great and super customizable, including the option of a backpack strap, but maybe a bit weak in terms of protection. They don't post prices, so I'm guessing they're pretty spendy.
- Longoni Giotto: Hands-down my favorite in terms of look, but you pay a premium for it. I found one review and they had good things to say about it (https://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=6293487&postcount=8).

Appreciate any suggestions or opinions.

Gil Castillo Leather .......lots of Forum members have bought cases from him, including myself.
Do yourself a favor; go up in size like a 2x4 to 3x6 or a 4x8, allow for extra room. Mine is 6x12.

I have a GD case, quality of materials and build is superb not much nicer to be found. The cue protection while traveling is good but not quite as good as a flip top tube case such as the JB. If your use case is to take your cue(s) to a venue and have your cue out and in use the entire time and place it back when done a butterfly case is a good option. If you play league or tourneys where you are in and out of games and the hall is crowded I prefer the flip top so you can place your cue butt end first into the case without taking apart for protection from careless patrons of the pool hall. My 2 cents.
