Hello, I have this Color of Money Joss cue that I bought new sometime back in the mid 90's. Can anyone on here give me any info about which generation or revision this is, please? It is before they put serial numbers on the joint and before they put the Joss lettering on the collars so I know it is old but may be a second gen or something like that. I know Joss has made this cue over the years as they change revisions of their cues so someone on here should know if this is an original first gen or second gen or whatever. Any info you can give will be appreciated. Thanks!

There is one on ebay like yours, light color wrap, no Hoppe ring, non-notched diamonds. Dates as a 1988 graduation gift. Movie came out in '86.

I've seen at least two other variants, both believed to be more recent.

Good chance it's a first run, but not sure.

Good luck.

I just checked eBay and I do see 4 of them listed. 3 are the latest edition and the old one that you mention was a graduation gift is kinda like mine but doesn't have the Joss emblem with the bridge hand on the buttcap and does have the Joss lettering on the joint collars. So it is a different version for sure. If he actually got his in 1988 then it would be a first edition and mine may be a second edition. Does anyone know for sure? Also any ideas on what it is worth? I am considering selling it on eBay unless someone wants to buy it direct. Thanks again for the replies and info!

I bought mine in Omaha NE in the late 80s.

I believe it was the model N7. I used it later as a break cue when I purchased by first Hunter Classic.

Unfortunately I was heartbroken when I snapped the cue just behind the joint on a break in 2002 during a tournament......

I think I paid around $650 at the time of purchase. It was a first generation model.

J-18

I believe the original model number was J-18. Here are some examples from the mid to late 1980’s
