Foam wrap

Just curious, has anyone ever played with a foam wrap?
You know the the stuff you see on fishing rods.
I was thinking if they supply a good grip in wet conditions like the lake then they should supply good grip for us in pool.

I know it may not look very good but then again I have heard of cork wraps and those can't look all that great either.

Yeah, heard of cork, just wondering in the foam would be a little more sticky.
Fishing rods kind of feel that way.

If you are talking about the foam handled fishing rods, the foam is quite porous.

I only have a couple of rods with a foam handle. I prefer Cork. Water proof. Obviously quite grippy.

You don't want any slip. Cast the line and the rod goes with it.

I can't think of any like material that would be thin enuff for a handle. There would be no
shaping or sanding it. The wrap groove would have to be played with.

I doubt that you would like it in the long run. If you like grippy with a little padding, a rubber wrap like the new ones coming out.

Other than that, the closest you might come is of a tennis racket handle wrap that Earl has been known to use.

That would give you grip plus a bit of slip and padded.
