recomendations for cleaning

the rubber in the pockets of a ball return table
would like to get some of the "gunk" off
but not leave a residue on the balls when they go into the cleaned pocket
your suggestions please

You can use some dish soap on a wet rag. For heavier build-up, try some Goo Gone.. If you do, make sure that you go over it again with a soapy rag or some alcohol.

DO NOT USE FURNITURE POLISH. It will leave a residue on the balls, and make them play very slick.

I’ve cleaned a lot of pocket liners and gully boots. I use simple green and a stiff brush, wipe clean.
