Well as many of you know I stood behind Kevin and his cues. They are amazing players.

I still have the "Sneaky" Player he made for me 7 years ago. Great cue.

Problem is that this cue was my main barroom league player and god knows it shows....

The cue really really needs a refinish. It deserves it.

Would anyone happen to want to help me out here.

Not looking for a freebie but not lookin to bust my bank account either. I just want to bring this cue back to playable condition.

a bit confused

i too would use ryan, he has helped me in the past and his work is excellent.

question, is that stain in the forearm under the finish ? has the finish been removed or sanded ? i have never seen a stain like that under a sealed finish. just curious.

It was sanded.... nearly beat the guy that did it.....

The finish is worn at the bottom of the butt.

I'd also recommend Ryan. He's done several for me and VERY reasonably priced for the work he does.

Banned
never mentioned

kevin varney suffered from an infection which completely impaled his breathing.
i wouldn't be surprised if he coughed or sneezed and put his hand up to cover his mouth.
we all do that.
i'll have to say, that may very well be bacteria that took him from us.
all this time hiding in the wood beneath the finish.

Did that cue once have a lacquer finish? Did someone sand the whole ass of it?

I thought the Kevin often used oil for a finish...

It was a satin finish as he called it. Pretty thin.

Honestly the ass of it might have been from playing or the instroke I had at one time... not sure.

Regardless. It needs a new finish lol

I can refinish it. I helped Kevin with several cues as his illness got worse so I am very familiar with his work.
