U.J. Puckett's cue ? - 06-05-2012, 05:08 AM

Just watched a old match on the tube Puckett playing Fats. Love to know what cue U.J. was using. Thanks in advance.

This is AZ Billiards! You mean to tell me no one knows U.J.'s cue?
Man, we're suppose to know everything. I count on you guys to know all when it comes to anything to do with pool.
I did, many years ago see him play with a borrowed Gina.
But, what his cue (s) were, I can't say.

It is now in the famous collection of THE GLENN FAMILY
along with the stove pipe hat that uj wore foe so many years

i was in ft worth with puckett and dennis glenn at the time of the sale

puckett was honored to have his stuff in the well known collection

The one and only time I ever saw UJ actually play was in Ft. Worth in the mid-80's...

His eyesight was already bad...

He was playing with a Rambow that day...

A friend of mine bought it a couple of years later...

In the late 70s-early 80s (maybe longer), UJ definitely had a plain maple TAD with no points. Whenever I saw him, the cue had no wrap on it. Many people in the Ft. Worth area could confirm this.

U.J.s Tad cue had a wrap. It was a light color wrap, and he gripped it so hard, you can see the old style weight plugs outline under the linen.

This should be the last word on the subject. Robin would know.

In one of the series of Legends shows, U.J. showed up on the east coast without his cue. He borrowed a cue from RandyG if I remember correctly. Might have been a Palmer that Randy was toting around.

When I was traveling with UJ he was playing with an old Rambo.
He had black electrical tape holding the points together.
He had played with that cue for a long time.

Later he bought a Tad.
