Your staple work says a lot about your level of experience.

I don't consider it showing off, I believe it's more leading by example....like your pocket finishing trim, where do you think that came from....if I never showed anyone my work

iz uze tawkin ta me?! it's not perfect but it's as good as i can do without going on a cursing rampage plus the guy who did the cushions didn't do a very good job. that's a water stain on the cloth because i soaked the cloth to get it to stretch.

included is a pic of the feather strips that i sanded on my belt-sander. i did all six strips like this and it worked surprisingly well. i don't have the patience to do it by hand. i had a mental lapse and installed one rail cloth upside down and had to remove the strip which was tight. i ripped the cloth and you could hear me cursing several blocks away. fortunately i had JUST ENOUGH to get the staples into it. it was very very close.....

How do you get rail cloth nice and tight and not deform the corner like in this pic? I think I should be able to put a straight edge on the nose of a rail and it be perfectly straight. Thanks and take it easy. Julio
You're pulling the cloth to hard over the nose of the cushions, go to seyberts.com and buy my Simonis cloth installation DVDs.

Geoff, I can't see the pics. Don't know it others can, it seems maybe RKC can.

Update: I'm pretty sure it's a Mac Safari browser problem, I can see them on Chrome.

Update 2: looked into this, webp format was developed by Google for Chrome, Firefox now supports it, Apple's Safari is the last holdout to not support it.

So, thanks for the pics! That's a lot staples, many more than I would have imagined. Glad I saw this.

Are you guys using a power stapler, or are you muscling it with a manual one?

Thanks all for the replies, and I do enjoy that my first post spurred lively conversation. But especially thanks RKC. Straight forward and to the point, answered the question. And yes, i was confused by the video as well. I'm glad some folks chimed in on that.

More questions to come. Much appreciated. Take it easy. Julio

If you have more questions just ask them, SlateMate was pushing the limits of my patience asking so many childish questions I just figured if he's looking for advice on how to write a book about being a table mechanic I could save a lot of my time.by just charging him and getting the job done, that many questions was just rediculess. Asking for advice because YOU want to do the job is one thing, but asking question after question because you're trying to avoid paying someone don't mean ANYONE here owes that free advice just because someone insists his questions get answered for free.
