Well then Joey, why aren't all the new opening pool rooms snatching up all those old used GCs at a steal of a price and opening with used GCs instead of buying new Diamonds? There's literally 1000's of used Gold Crowns in storage just waiting to be bought by ANYONE!

Because there ARE NO OPENING ROOMS.

On top of that , those GC's are already frankensteined.
And guess what, there are still being redone and resold on CL every day.

The original Diamond as you said are getting sold for $500.
Let's see how these Diamonds now hold up and see how they sell 40 years from now.

And the table and the whole package is still available.
Even though is below normal resale price.

Dont worry about it Joey, the seller will find a buyer, it just won't be by anyone like you, because you put the capital C in the word to CHEAP to own a Diamond.

Go ahead Glenn, name new pool rooms in Socal and Nocal that opened with Diamonds .

When dozens and dozens of pool rooms with Diamond tables go out of business, you won't be able to brag about 70-80% resale value of D tables.
It's the way the economics work.
You have the butterbean argument.

Speaking of which, is Diamond going to ever redesign any of their tables? They have looked the same for 15 or 20 years now.

As usual, you show you the world you're an asshole.
First, I'm not buying it. And have not offered him nothing.
He forwarded me information and I forwarded it to my brother whose best friend already owns an 8-foot Diamond.
He's selling his D to my brother for $1K.
And is going for a 9-foot Diamond.
And this guy is not a self-proclaimed millionaire who rarely takes a shower.
He's a manager at a casino .

Go ride a bike.

They don't open with Diamonds because the business environment is so toxic in California that a pool room owner has to open in a cheap industrial area, and has to get their tables for rock bottom prices. I'd guess most pool room owners in Cali either got all their tables at rock bottom prices from another pool hall going out of business, or scoured cheap deals off craigslist and Ebay for a year or more in preparation for opening.

The politicians take so much in taxes from the citizenry of California that pool players aren't patronizing any joint that has more than $4.00 an hour table time, and more likely they are there for the $10.00 all day before 6pm rate. Prove me wrong.

You're starting another argument.
Take it to the political section.

Why didn't you buy a Diamond? Are you cheap too?

No, they're not, reason being, that's exactly what destroys the value of the used table market, last year's model. If the model don't ever change, it never gets old. The reason everyone else keeps updating newer models is to sell a NEW model every so many years....then you end up like Brunswick and Valley....thousands of used tables undercutting the price of new tables. If a room owner wa t to expand and add 5 more tables to the 10 they already have, they want the 5 new tables to match. When you no longer make that model of table that the room owner has 10 of, then you screw the room owner by showing everyone which are the new tables and the ood ones. If they look exactly the same, then there is NO separation new and old tables.

I'd think that you'd be a little more respectful of a company that is kind of single-handedly keeping pool on the map in America.

Why didn't you buy a Diamond? Are you cheap too?

I DID buy a Diamond, had it for a few years in Florida, and moved it to Colorado before I had to sell it for lack of proper room in my house to play properly. That table was responsible for the near-wins I had against John Morra and Joey Gray DCC 2012, having Morra down 2-1 in the One Pocket (this is the year he won the banks), and ran a 5 pack on Joey Gray in the 9 ball.

Pretty decent for a guy who plays one tournament a year, and was basically living jn the middle east for a few years.

I deeply regret having to sell it, and they are simply unavailable over here in Europe.

And you ASKED why pool halls in California don't open with Diamonds, and I told you. Nothing political about that.

Any other questions?

He's owned 3 already, I know, I delivered them, and sold them when he needed to move for work. How many Diamonds have YOU owned Joey? Not a damn one, that's how many, because you're to damn cheap to own one!!!

Great .
Now, should we argue why GC's have worse resale value than Diamonds?

Well they have been pretty stagnant on their aesthetic design. Its not a matter of respect. you can go back 15 years (maybe more) and the tables looked exaclty the same. Everything changes every few years to keep modern looking. If they don't change it, someone might come along and take their share. But knowing the pool world, probably no one will, as there is not much money in it.

I do hate their cushions, but we've hashed that out for years on here, and no need to in this thread also:)

Ah, great. So those GC's you did are worthless then.
Cheapos do not hire the best mechs around to do their tables.

You're known to be cheap.
You look like it in person too.
And as usual, you turn another thread to a flaming war.
Hey how about !!!!
More !!!!
