15,000 Mexican troops and national guardsmen deployed to US/Mexico border - 06-25-2019, 07:16 AM

President Trump got action where no President before him has...... Thumbs Frigging UP!!!!!!!

Mexico says it has deployed 15,000 forces in the north to halt U.S.-bound migration
https://af.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idAFKCN1TP2YV

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico has deployed almost 15,000 soldiers and National Guard in the north of the country to stem the flow of illegal immigration across the border into the United States, the head of the Mexican Army said on Monday.

Mexico has not traditionally used security forces to stop undocumented foreign citizens leaving the country for the United States, and photographs of militarised police catching Central American and Cuban women at the border in recent days have met with criticism.

Mexico is trying to curb a surge of migrants from third countries crossing its territory in order to reach the United States, under the threat of tariffs on its exports by U.S. President Donald Trump, who has made tightening border security a priority.

Responding to weekend reports of heavy-handed interventions by the military, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, the head of the Army, said soldiers were needed to back up migration officials in containment operations.

Alongside 6,500 members of the security forces sent to Mexico’s southern border area with Guatemala, where many migrants enter, a larger contingent was in the north, he said.

“In the northern part of the country we have a total deployment of 14,000, almost 15,000 units between the National Guard and the Army,” Sandoval told a regular news conference.

“If we left it completely in the hands of the National Institute of Migration it wouldn’t be possible,” he added. “That’s why we’re providing support, it’s a strategy being pursued on both borders.”

A new militarised police force formed from soldiers, marines and federal police, the National Guard is at the heart of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s plan to restore order in a country convulsed by record levels of violence.

The force is still taking shape, and due to be headed by a retired general under the aegis of the security ministry.

The force is still taking shape, and due to be headed by a retired general under the aegis of the security ministry.

Reuters images taken on Friday showed National Guard members detaining Cuban and Central American women trying to illegally cross from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico into El Paso, Texas.
Former Mexican national security official Gustavo Mohar said Mexico’s security forces had not been used this way before, describing the development as “sad.”

Mohar blamed the change on Trump’s threats to impose tariffs. The National Guard should ideally not be implementing migration policy, he argued, while acknowledging that Mexican migration authorities were overwhelmed.

Mexico on June 7 agreed to reduce significantly the number of migrants reaching the U.S. border within a period of 45 days.

If that fails, Lopez Obrador’s government has said it will consider changing its laws to satisfy Trump’s demand that Mexico become a buffer zone to stop migrants entering the United States.

Most of the people caught on the U.S.-Mexico border are from three Central American countries suffering from high levels of gang violence and poverty: Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Trump has said he will impose initial tariffs of 5% on all Mexican goods if the migrant flow is not curbed. The tariff could eventually rise as high as 25%, he has said.
================================================== ===========

I believe in Sharing the Love....... Now our friends in Mexico can know what it it like to be invaded people you didn't invite to illegally cross your borders. Maybe a new saying is in order. What crosses into Mexico......Stays in Mexico!!!!

Dems will be like church mice on applauding Trump's success in securing our borders. They will only say how inhumane it is to stop law breakers (future Democrats) from overrunning our country.

The criticism is valid its a camp.

But a politician should have solutions.

Calling names is not a solution. Do you want to just let undocumented people run free in America?

Whats the worse that could happen? They get jobs and start families.

Or is there a concern for safety from disease, violence and other undesirable devastation?

Sanctuary cities want to take them in, let them pay for housing, feeding, clothing, medical and education. Those cities have lots of extra cash to spend on welfare.

Its not like cities have long wait lists to get in to affordable housing or shelter programs? Or a foster care system that can result in a high chance of death or abuse. Neighborhood gangs that control low income areas, the same areas these refugees may be located. Consequences of living in gang controlled areas varied, but mainly means youth have a higher chance of "militarizing"

Americans that are on welfare should take a backseat to illegal immigrants crossing the border because its the right thing to do. These are political prisoners or asylum seeking refugees.

Cities have lots of extra medical staff time they can donate to those "camps." City hospitals don't have enough to do as it is.

Where do you get your information? Cities don't have extra cash.
Political prisoners? You think political prisoners are illegally crossing the border? Asylum seekers? Seeking asylum from what? And all of those people should take a "back seat" from the current poor living in the U.S.?

The purpose of the camp in America is not to kill them.

That is a clear difference. Its more of a catchy criticism without a substance or direction.

There is no leadership in the criticism, just snarky back-handed attitude.

Instead of the U.S. taxpayers spending so much on supporting illegals here in the U.S., how about we deport them all, then spend that same amount of money on providing Mexico with the tools needed, to keep future transgressors out of their country and ours? From the photo posted above once can see it is obvious their troops could use something a little more technical than a pencil and paper for tracking their catches of the day. Where is Apple and their giveaway program when you need them? Or Obama's free cell phone giveaway. We spend billions supporting the defense of other nations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East..... what about ours?

This is how "feel good voters against Trump talk"

Cities have extreme income inequality, all those rich people in Hollywood, Bankers on Wallstreet, DC politicians, Amazon and all its tax breaks. Those rich people in the city have extra money.

crossing illegally is the safest way, China is trying to arrest people in Hong Kong, but there are protests. Running to America is the only way to evade detection. I mean literally running to America to cross the border.

America's lower class they are important, but right now Democrats are making sure these illegals are "treated right." America's lower class living in public housing with lead paint and near power plants spewing airborne illness is low priority. They at least get to have families and live maybe a few decades less than the wealthier people.

But illegal immigrants crossing the border right now should be getting first class accommodations. That is how politicians can consolidate power and turn the border into a very nice processing city, where people can have families and jobs while waiting to become American citizens legally.

Its not spending on illegals, its an investment into the America future.

Illegals in America pays itself off, its creates low wage labor, prostitution, drugs and even helps towns with too many men and not enough women start families.

All those free giveaway programs is to help make sure they receive what all Americans get, a small amount of support. These are people coming from countries where being gay is a crime punishable by death. Not all parts of Europe or Asia, but definitely Africa and the Middle East.

America is well defended, the current spending level on defense is more than adequate.

I think he was trying use satirical soundbites similar to what Sev often does... but the problem is that Justnum often has problems communicating his true meaning because of all that math in his head. You need a Justnum decoder ring to understand what he is trying to say.

He is right.

I consider it a less decorated version of the facts. Or just the facts.

I have no idea what satire means.

ONE OF THE ISSUES IS THE MEDICAL CARE THEY NEED AND RECIEVE WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT. SANTA CLARA COUNTY, LOSES 150 MILLION EVERY YEAR DUE TO NON PAYMENT FOR MEDICAL CARE OF ILLEGALS. MOST COUNTIES IN OUR AREA HAVE STOPPED HAVING A COUNTY HOSPITAL DUE TO THIS REASON. THEY CAN ALSO IMPACT HOUSING COSTS, BY CREATING A SHORTAGE IN HOUSING. IN THE BAY AREA THERE ARE AT LEAST A MILLION ILLEGALS. HOW ABOUT ALL THE OTHER PROGRAMS THAT THEY APPLY FOR ONCE THEY ARE HERE? YOU KNOW LIKE SECTION 8 HOUSING, CHILD SUPPORT, SOCIAL SERVICES, ETC. THOSE ARE ALL FREE RIGHT?

Or is there a concern for safety from disease, violence and other undesirable devastation? CHILDREN ARE BEING RAPED AND MOLESTED ON THEIR TRIP TO AMERICA. CHILD TRAFFICING IS OCCURING AT UNPRESIDENTED LEVELS. DRUGS, CRIMINALS ARE GETTING INTO OUR COUNTRY.

Sanctuary cities want to take them in, let them pay for housing, feeding, clothing, medical and education. Those cities have lots of extra cash to spend on welfare.

NOT EVERYONE IN SANCTUARY CITIES AND COUNTIES WANT TO TAKE THEM. JUST BECAUSE A PERSON LIVES SOMEWHERE DOESN'T MEAN THEY BELIEVE IN WHAT THE MAYOR OR COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS BELIEVE. I'M A CITIZEN. DOESN'T THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION PROTECT MY RIGHTS TO LIFE, LIBERTY AND JUSTICE? THE CONSTITUTION APPLIES TO A COUNTRY'S CITIZENS. IF I GO TO A DIFFERENT COUNTRY, BEING A NON CITIZEN, THEIR CONSTITUTION ISN'T FOR ME.

Americans that are on welfare should take a backseat to illegal immigrants crossing the border because its the right thing to do. These are political prisoners or asylum seeking refugees.

WOW, JUST WOW. UNITED STATES CITIZENS SHOULD TAKE A BACK SEAT TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE SHOULD BE TREATED LESS THAN PEOPLE WHO ILLEGALLY ENTER OUR COUNTRY, BECAUSE YOU FEEL IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO. GLAD I DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL.

POLITICAL PRISONERS AREN'T BEING RELEASED BY THOSE GOVERNMENTS. A BETTER TERM WOULD BE POLITICAL DISSIDENTS. MOST OF THE PEOPLE ILLEGALLY CROSSING OUR BOARDER WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR ASYLUM REQUESTS, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD REQUEST ASYLUM AT THE APPROPRIATE LOCATION.

Cities have lots of extra medical staff time they can donate to those "camps." City hospitals don't have enough to do as it is.

You've pointed out there will be bumps in the road and some bad apples in the group.

But you have to think long term, future generations. Not just the handful of incidents and discomfort it costs now.

Once these people become old enough to vote and have families that can vote, its a reverse gerrymandering. Republican districts will flip and be filled with pro Democrats.

These people will remember who supported them in the country. And when that pay off happens, they will be lifelong Democratic supports, for life.

That is what this is about. How to beat elections now and forever? Gerrymandering was about drawing lines. Population restructuring is about creating the voting base. Imagine a few other solid Democratic areas like New York City popping up in a few decades. Then there is no chance a Republican can ever win.

DBGORDIE, I like the way you argue. And these discussions for me are purely academic. Your a valuable opponent.
