Tip pad what to do? Never put one on before. Do i glue it on first let it set then apply the tip? Or glue it to the tip first? Doing this by hand is the pad hard to trim? Thanks for your help. Skip

Sand the pad on a hard, flat surface using 100 grit. Glue the tip pad first, being careful not to touch the surface with your fingers thereby transferring oil to the pad and inhibiting adhesion.

I use a lathe, so no problems trimming or facing the tip pad after gluing it up before tip installation.

This method works well, but even the best way of doing things does not guarantee 100% success.

Thank for the info, hangemhigh. Put many tips on before but never used a pad. No lath so slow but sure. :)

I also glue the wafer to the tip. I put the combo in the vice (light pressure) to cure.
