Here are the results:

Hello Everyone,

We had our monthly 3rd Saturday of the Month 14.1 Straight Pool Tournament at Hard Times yesterday, June 20, 2009. We had a field of 10 players participate. This was a small field but it had a variety of skill levels from your fairly inexperienced Straight Pool Players to your professional and soon to be in the "Hall of Fame" player and everything in between. It was a great day of Straight Pool at Hard Times. We didn't have any extremely high runs but we did have a lot of manuevering, manufacturing and safeties being displayed. Here are the tournament results:

1st place - Jose "Amang" Parica - $250.
2nd place - Dennis Burman - $130.
3rd and 4th - Ramin Bahktiari, Ernie Rivas - $30. each

Dennis Burman, a regular at Hard Times in Bellflower, had a great tournament day but ran into a fired up and determined Jose "Amang" Parica who had nothing but one thing on his mind - 1st place. Ernie Rivas, a regular Straight Pool Player from the San Diego, CA area, also had a good tournament day placing 3rd and 4th in the event. Jose Parica and Ramin Bahktiari played the semi-final match and what a match it was. Parica stormed ahead in the earlier part of the match leaving Ramin looking up at a fairly steep hill but that didn't discourage Ramin. At one point in the match there was a 40 pt differential but Ramin kept closing the gap until the difference was only a matter of 20 points. Although the match took an extensive amount of time, this match consisted of a lot of manuevering and safety battles, everything in a Straight Pool Match a fan would be looking for. Even down to the last 3 balls, Ramin showed no giving up. Mr. Parica would, eventually, come out victorious. This match fired up Mr. Parica because in the final match of the tournament, it was clearly a one sided affair. 100 - 22 - Jose "Amang" Parica over Dennis Burman.

Thank you everyone for your support,
