With Van Boening's undefeated win at TS XXX, here's an update to the counts of winners who were undefeated versus those who came from the one-loss side:

14 undefeated (events, without the Roman numerals, # 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 24, 26, 27, 29, and 30)

16 with one loss

And the average score in the finals remains at 13 - 7.0.

With Turning Stone XXXI coming up this week, I thought I'd (1) re-post my list of the winners and runners-up, and the score of the Finals match, from each of the previous 30 events and (2) indicate which of those finalists are returning this week.

The 30 Turning Stone events have been won by 16 different players. Eleven players have won once, Bustamante and Immonen have each won twice, Van Boening has won 4 times, Shaw has won 5 times, and Archer has won 6 times.

The 30 events have seen 22 different players finish second. Sixteen players have finished second once; Sossei, Immonen, Morra, and Archer have each been runner-up twice; Hatch and Morris have 3 runner-up finishes apiece.

The current player list on the Joss Tour website for event XXXI is dated 12/24/2018, so we probably won't see too many changes to it at this point. Based on that list, 6 of the previous event winners (who have accounted for 19 wins) and 9 of the runners-up (who have accounted for 15 second-place finishes) are scheduled to play this week. It's interesting that the score 13-7 seems to come up a lot in the finals.

Yes, 13-7 6 times. And 13-11 7 times, but never hill/hill.

And never 13-0 or 13-1.

With Van Boening's win from the one-loss side at TS XXXII, here's an update to the counts of winners who were undefeated versus those who came from the one-loss side:

  • 14 undefeated (events, without the Roman numerals, # 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 24, 26, 27, 29, and 30)

    18 with one loss

The average score in the finals is now 13 - 7.1.

And it is now 8 times that the final match score has been 13-11, but still no hill/hill finals.

With Turning Stone XXXIII coming up next week, as usual I am re-posting my list of the winners and runners-up, and the score of the Finals match, from each of the previous events and (2) indicating which of those finalists are scheduled to return next week.

The previous 32 Turning Stone events have been won by 16 different players. Eleven players have won once, Bustamante and Immonen have each won twice, Van Boening has won 5 times, Shaw and Archer have each won 6 times.

The 32 events have seen 24 different players finish second. Eighteen players have finished second once; Sossei, Immonen, Morra, and Archer have each been runner-up twice; Hatch and Morris have 3 runner-up finishes apiece.

The current player list on the Joss Tour website for event XXXIII is dated 1/2/2020 (updated for the 1/7/20 list), so we probably won't see too many changes to it at this point. Based on that list, 5 of the previous event winners (who have accounted for 19 wins) and 7 of the runners-up (who have accounted for 10 second-place finishes) are scheduled to play next week. Their names are shown in blue.

In addition to the "blue" guys in the previous post, some other entrants who are fully capable of winning are Aranas, Fortunski, Juszczyszyn, and Kazakis.

Edit -- Will SVB make it in time? He's in China now, playing in a Chinese 8-Ball event.
