Stage double elimination First match kicks off at 10am local time (2am Eastern) about 18 hours from now

With reduced 96 players (instead of usual 128 players), only need to win 1 match (instead of 2) in double elimination stage to qualify for last 64 Single elimination. But lose 2 matches and you are out.

Thanks for the links and the updates.
Also, classic Audrey is the best. Great photo.

So is it now official that winning the US Open is statistically harder that the World championship when size of field and depth of talent (average Fargo) is taken into account?

Or does that need to travel to Qatar and survive for a week factored into the difficulty of playing in such a tournament?

i would say the weight of the title "world champion" compensates for the relatively small field. there is plenty of talent represented. with that said it's a sh*thole country that's holding this great tournament hostage, and is doing the same in other sports as well.

Name means nothing if the talent pool isnt as deep.

I wouldn't get out of the electric chair to go to Qatar but you can't blame them for anything. This event is the property of the WPA and it was simply a business decision to go there. The QBSF, host promoter, most likely offered a lot of $$ to host it. Do i wish it was somewhere like NY, Chicago, London etc? Sure but apparently no one in those cities is stepping up with the $$$$.
