My Personalized Palmer Model "M" was in one those Cases
when it was stolen in 1981.

I would give $5k to get it back in original condition.

Here are some pics of cases like the one used in The Hustler. I saved these off A-Z over the years and forget who owns them.

Anyone have one? or know what kind they are, Pic? Thanks.

I don't know why this is in my head and have no idea why I remember this but I was told it was an Erwin Rudolph case. I also remember Toby Sweet having one just like it and telling me it was an Erwin Rudolph case. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

What kind of cases are those, they look great.

The hustler case was the one similar to the Bill Cole case pictured above, (with the lines but if i recall, without the round stampings).

It was in the AE Schmidt catalog in the 1950's, but I've also seen the exact case with a Brunswick label too. So, I'm not sure who actually made the Hustler case.

The tooling design was influenced by fly rod cases from the 1920's.

The plot thickens......Does anyone have stills from the movie displaying the case? I tried to find some but had no luck.

These are original A.E. Schmidt cases from the time frame of The Hustler.

Pause the movie and you will see the same leather tooling lines on Eddies case.

I think you will find the case was SOLD by AE Schmidt but made
by Brunswick. Many billiard wholesalers sold items made by Brunswick
in those days.

I still have two of the similar Brunswick case, plain black leather,
only holds 1 butt - 2 shafts. It ws still sold by National Billiards
in the late 60s, maybe even into the 70s.

Rudolf was a top pro player from the Greenleaf era thru the Mosconi
era. I doubt he made cases, perhaps he owned/promoted some?
