Like many other azers, I often use Tapatalk to browse and post on the AZb forum.

Recently ads have started showing up and they are pretty irritating. Is this happening to anyone else?

Looks like this on some pages now:

Can you please turn them off as suggested in this post? We don't have that option at the user level.

Thanks guys. Just a small request to maintain the integrity of the forum. Cheers.

I hate tapatalk . On my iphone 5 I can't even browse craigslist using their search function because of their banner that I can't X out. I've done searches regarding them and it seems there's nothing I can do about it. You can't block them or X them out on most sites

it is better than using the regular internet browsers available by FAR!!!

Give it a try, if you don't like it, it is very easy to uninstall.

The problem with Tapatalk when compared to a regular browser is that you do not see any of the regular banner ads that are displayed on AZ.

These banner ads bring in quite a bit of money and help the site to run as smoothly as it does and probably earns Mike some money.
You seeing the other ads in Tapatalk is what is maintaining the integrity of the forum.

The other option would be to turn off Tapatalk, not turn off the ads. For a mobile device Tapatalk is certainly better then a browser.

I'd have no problem with billiard ads while using Tapatalk.

Big Fish Casino.....not so sure ;)

That is not what you said originally but a somewhat valid point.

These ads however are not selected by the forum owner, this works more like
google adsense where you sell a bit of space on your webpage to google. In google
you have some influence on what is displayed there (like no erotic sites and no get
rich quick schemes) but other then that google decides what sells best and displays
that.

Once several Billiards related sites start buying banners on Tapatalk and those banners
get clicked on then Tapatalk will most likely display those more often.

I am still using a fliptop cell. I haven't graduated to the smartphones yet. My daughter has the latest Samsung and an iPad. I'm connected on my computer. When I leave the computer and my work, I do not want to be connected to anything. I need a break.

That said, can't you use AdBlock on those? That would eliminate the ads. I love AdBlock. Somebody here on AzBilliards suggested it when we were watching a pool tournament overseas, and ever since I started using it, it has saved me literally tens of thousands of hours of my time watching stupid commercials when I am researching various websites for my job.

AdBlock is free. I realize AzBilliards receives revenue from the banner ads and AdBlock will stop them from showing up. For me, though, I had to weigh the pros and cons of advertisements and commercials and getting the data I need faster. I went with getting the data I need faster.
