Remember Libra cues, those cues that people loved to play with
Jack Potter the maker of those cues and I have been friends for over 60 years

I think I have talked him into making "Second Edition Libra"
or Jackpot /Deano cues

Here is my idea, we are thinking of making a basic cue, merry widow
with 2 or 3 shafts with different tapers on the shaft for your testing and play

At a cost of about $500 you get the basic cue, nice quality but basic, an economical way
for you to know that you like the play before you spend any more

possibly these will be the best playing cues you ever tried, your game improves
and everyone is amazed to see you having fun.

That's what we expect

Not sure if it will fly or not Dean, good shafts are not cheap. If the buyer likes a certain shaft would you take back the two shafts that were not chosen?
Libra cues were fine playing cues, many players claimed they were monsters.
Timing may be right to try this venture, cues that make people happy....I like it.

if a guy gets a great playing cue
from a known classic like libra he better not complain

no returnes just hoping he finds the perfect playing cue

we are just thinking now anyway

Is Jack "actually" going to be "making them" or will they be outsourced?

As far as somebody's comment "good shafts aren't cheap", I think that is a bit misleading. Assuming you are using the same "stock" for all your shafts, a crappy shaft costs the same as a good one. You never know if it is a good one until it is done. Even then, somebody will say a good one is a crappy one and another guy will say the crappy one plays better than the good one.

Hasn't it been 25 or 30 years since Libra cues were made? Does Jack still have the equipment? Maybe he'll start up a new shop or use someone else's?

I dont see how the conversation can move forward without the above being addressed.

I might be interested if I can have some input in the design (4 point- steel joint).

i had the pleasure of spending time with Jack & John during a couple of my many visits to the DFW area back in the day and always left with some of their cues which sold like hotcakes when i got back to Tn

One of my good customers called them a "working man's SW" which was a fitting description

Needless to say "im in"

Did you say shrubberies?

I'd be in, conditionally...

1. Is Jack building them; or is he overseeing the build?
2. If Jack isn't building them, who is?
3. In what shop are they being built? It's already been stated Jack's been out of the business for a number of years - does he still have the equipment, or not?
4. From where are you guys getting the components? Is this vintage Libra wood stock & components, or are you buying/outsourcing?
