The chances of Bongbong becoming President after Duterte are quite good.

I was in the Philippines in 2001 and there was a bloodless coup. They were bombing the shopping malls.

The PI is a place renown for its steamy politics. The Pinoys are some of the nicest folks on the planet.

From my wife's family who live there.... and her U.S. Filipina friends who have been back for family visits since Duterte became the man, they all like what he has done to make the country safer for civilians. A lot of ordinary people in the Philippines actually want a strong man like Duterte to clean up the dangerous criminal element.

The majority of Filipinos are still pleased with the Duterte administration’s war on drugs, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) second quarter survey. The independent research institution found that 82% of Filipinos were satisfied with the illegal drug campaign, while 12% were dissatisfied.

I think removing Duterte will not happen. Especially if he gets any dirt on Marcos. It will be the other way around.

I'm not talking about "removing" Duterte.

I'm talking about Bongbong being elected after Duterte's term is up.

My bad. I wasn't thinking about term limits. And as I see, Duterte has stated he would even step down early if the government completes Federalism in its constitution.

Not sure Bong Bong will be accepted all that well being a descendant of a thieving dictator. He doesn't fall far from the tree.
