Anybody live in Miami-Dade? - 11-13-2019, 01:21 PM

I need an agent who is a resident of the Miami-Dade area. JimmyG? Know somebody?

The plan is to deliver a truckload of feral cats. Get the bounty, "return the cats" to Miami Dade. I figure I can buy them for three dollars a head, two dollars for expenses, and we can split the rest!

Yes, America is still the land of opportunity.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm in and I'm pretty sure that Sofla hasn't any objection towards making a killing. Hey, with a little spray paint, we may be able to recycle the same cats several times before anyone even gets suspicious. Sofla can get the trucks, I can manage security against opposing groups hijacking our trucks.... and you provide the cats. It's like cat prohibition.

I wonder how many cats you stuff into a semi based on its cubic feet of volume?

That is a great idea! I have a little issue with polecats around here. With a little paint ...

About reusing the cats. Paint I got. I'm having a little trouble sourcing prosthetic cat ears though.

I honeslty do not know why the Country of Dade just don't put a Bounty on the Unwanted Kitties, Trap Alive run the out to the end of Tammy-Ammy Trail. Drop off in the Ever Glades, the problem will be solved by Gators, Poision Snakes, Pythons, and other local species in need of a meal.

I'll bet that plenty of people in the area are thinking the same way and they aren't planning to split hairs about exact location or feral.

The problem is that the cats are pretty fair predators themselves. Most feral cats die before they are two months old and the average life span is still two years. During that time they eat a lot of birds, eggs, small animals, and baby animals. Dumping the cats in the 'glades would have probably a bigger impact than the damned pythons.

I have a lot of ferals around the farm. I feed a few by choice and passing strangers by lack of choice. With a large pond near my house I had a very very healthy snake population when I moved in, including copperheads and cottonmouths. Thanks to the cats, the snake population is quite low. Moles and gophers were another nuisance. Not anymore!

The county fairgrounds here is home to about 50 ferals, 3 skunks, and 1 fox that all get fed once a day by a couple local families that also go to 2 or 3 other locations to feed the ferals. They also trap and take them to be sterilized, vaccinated, etc. I've donated traps and food as well as fed them on occasion to help since it is all out of their own pockets. Kitten s are soften caught and rescued and adopted out. Local cops of which I am friends with a couple, won't come near at night during feeding because the "Crazy Cat Lady" as they call her, has tried to get them to adopt a kitten whenever they do. LOL

The coolest thing I have seen was the fox that joins in that is far more scared of the cats than they are him. He sneaks up to grab a few bites of cat food and slinks back away from the mass of cats, then rinse and repeat until his belly is full. The skunks just saunter up and the cats give them a wide berth to eat all they want.

Maybe my old speedy delivery system would work! - 11-14-2019, 02:18 AM

People were moderately offending when somebody asked what they should use to shoot cats with. They really got bent out of shape when I detailed basically an oversized potato cannon. Heavy wall eight or ten inch PVC, a generous dose of ether or similar, a little flame applied to a touch hole, and viola, another cat launched toward heaven and only using one of his nine lives. Maybe two if he lands wrong. Probably what Miami should really be doing. Set up on the beach, launch the cats one to two miles out to sea and it shouldn't take long for sharks to gather if a cat survives the trip and landing!
