Howdy All;

Let's wrap this up, took it to my local VFW (free Pool today), Spent close to an hour
with each shaft. I LIKE IT :), :), Handled well, was able to do both Hard hits as well as
soft. Did all well. I'm thinkin' the tips are Le Pros. Older ones, maybe original. One gripe
I do have with it is the previous user used RED chalk :eek:, Gone from the tips and
shafts due to the reduction but the wrap is stained doesn't effect the play but something
I will have corrected soon.

Thanks for joining me on this excursion.

Sounds like a success. Thanks for the follow up.

Good info for anybody wanting to put one of these old cues back into service. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

And...yeah...hate red chalk. Should be illegal. :mad:

yeah, it worked out nice, but it is still heavy. It may be going for another
ride soon. I used it for the 8-ball tourney yesterday and found I truly had to
modify my stroke to control the weight. Some of those soft finesse shots were
a bear to shoot. The cue wanted to skewer them like a ka-bob. Felt like I was
trying to hold it back rather then allowing it to glide through. So, back to my
primary until the next "bright shiny object" catches my eye. :lol

You had a damn good cue maker work on it already.

Might be worth asking him if he can bore the butt to meet your weight goals.

I have many cues. I find that learning to adapt to their varying characteristics helps my skills.

Perhaps food for thought.

But I always end up back to my old Joss anyway. In my hands, nothings beats it.

Chopdoc, Howdy;

It's been considered, mulled over, pondered, mused, & even thought about.
Will need to sit on it awhile to see what renders.

As it would also be getting a new wrap to get rid of that ghastly red stained one,
then most likely a re-finish to eliminate a few bumps that I think may have exposed
the wood to air. So, there will be some scrimp & save time necessary before it
gets completed.

Thanks for the suggestion.
