Which way do you get on the 9?

Two rails out of the corner, short...or roll to the end rail and then to side rail by corner?

Center ball hit, lay up on the left side of the photo. You have the corner if you underhit, the side or pictured corner if you overhit. Lots of built-in insurance

High center is right. Probably won't settle on the left rail. This is an easy shot.

All the best,

Thanks for the diagram. Exactly what I was trying to depict.

I prefer option B...but I am a masher

Agreed...but was pondering the 'pro' way to down it.

Ifeel that with a bit of confidence in my approach, I could easily go from 60% to 62% from there.

For me it depends on the angle and this appears very close to a grey area for me. A little less angle and its roll it and maybe hit the long rail. A bit more angle and I would choose to stun it two rails out of the corner.

Personally I like option B. With the object ball in the center of the table just below the spot once the cueball reaches mid table you have a makeable shot on the nine. With the angle the cue ball is coming into the rail if it’s over hit it will stay in the position area a little longer allowing for a bigger margin of error.

7:30-8 o'clock on the cb, 2 rails out of the corner.

If the table is playing slow, 1:30 on the cb, speed to come down past the side, play the 9 in the same pocket as the other shot.

A fair point. I like the speed/angle control and simplicity of A.

Problem with A is there is a scratch in the side if its hit bad.

Thats why 2 out of the corner is the better shot. The inside follow I mentioned also avoids the scratch is the table plays funky enough you dont the the low outside.
