Chasing a ghost !

I feel like I'm chasing a ghost, and in a sense I guess I am. Please pass this email on to anyone in your organization that you feel might be able to help me, it's a rather interesting story. In 1966 my mother worked for an orthopedic surgeon in the Chicago area. His grown son was interested in one thing - pool. For Christmas that year the doctor wanted to buy his son a very special cue. My Mom, being his personal secretary, was charged with finding the best custom cue maker of the day. On Christmas Eve in 1966, we received a devastating phone call that the doctor had killed his wife and son, and then himself. Forgotten about, at the time, the cue was delivered in 1967. I was in college at the time, loved pool, and was given the cue. I use it to this day. it is a beautiful cue, spare in design, with a feel that is perfect. My Mom fought dementia and all traces of where the cue originated passed away with her. I'm not looking for financial gain by this, I'm only trying to find someone knowledgeable in the sport who might be able to help me track down the maker. I would appreciate any help in this area. Thank you all for your time.

Attached are pictures of my friend's cue that he won in a tournament in New York in 1965, note the set screw in the side for the weight bolt.

I have a very similar cue that I purchased off of ebay years ago.
It was advertised as a RICH Cue.

Mine does not have any points but the joint and butt look like a match.
