Greetings all,
Never held and/or played with any of the 3, so was hoping that my fellow AZers might have some opinions. I have heard good things about all 3, but other than that no other info.

Any insight or opinions welcome!!!

I have a BCM cue, but haven't tried any of the others listed. The BCM simple style (and my preference for 6 pointers, of which he seems to make many) made it a must-have when I saw it. They can usually be had for a good deal, and his service (replaced a cracked ferrule for me) is prompt and friendly.

Hit is subjective, and you may hate his cues, but you won't have a bad experience with him while finding out.

I am not a big cue genius and have no idea of any of them but BHQ is a class act as a person. I'm sure that your customer service would be top of the range.

I would have to say BHQ for the same reason as Mark said.

Brent makes great cues but he is also a great guy. I don't think you could go wrong dealing with him on a cue.

I should have probably said... the cue would be a simple wrapless, no point, cue.

If that matters lol

I'd actually say it's a pick'em at best. I've never heard anything but good, about all three. I have some limited interaction with BHQ, and BCM. Both are VERY nice guys. Really you can't go wrong, but I'd buy BHQ, because I've talked with Brent quite a bit, and enjoy hearing from him.

i think they all have different aspects that depends on what your looking for. if you want an awesome butterfly, go with BHQ. If you want some of the most killer wood selection and simple but elegant styling, then go with a Guerra cue. I haven't seen a whole lot from BCM that I can think off the top of my head, but i'm sure you wont go wrong with any of these guys.

Brent cusses at me a lot when he sends me rep on here, but that's one thing I like about him :D...the no bs attitude. Tony makes some really nice looking cues as his wood selection is awesome. Brian makes nice cues as well....probably can't go wrong with any pick. I would say definitely ask Brent for a butterfly cue if that is what you want like the above poster said.

Check who they train, apprenticed under, or received advice from. Example BHQ Cue was Dieckman. This info would add cue value later. Oh both my son and I own BHQ. You can read my comment on BHQ on his web page or search its in my posts. Cue call "Burnt Pizza".

I've said this in another thread but I'll tell you something.I've owned a sh-t-load of cues
from high-end production to tons of custom cues and have sold for years.
For me personally I've played with Predator shafts for most of my adult life.
The only custom cue with a maple shaft I wouldn't hesitate to play with in a big event
is one of Brian Mordts. His cues are built like stone, top shelf wood choice, fit and finish
is perfect and his shafts are fantastic. His cues may not be the fanciest but stand tall
when it comes to playability.
Out of your 3 choices,Brians your guy !

Interesting

I own a BCM... it's one of his older cues, has a G-10 pin... fantastic woods, good hit . Real nice guy, I bought the cue used on here from KRBSailing but Brian answered the questions I had. Great woods.

A friend of mine had one and just ordered another (he never keeps a cue too long) but I hit with his newer one and VERY nice. Heck, he ordered his first one because he hit with mine and liked it so much.

In regards to Guerra and BHQ...
I e-mailed back and forth with Tony, unfortunately we couldn't get a deal done... good conversations and he was patient while I made up my mind. I have no experience with Brent, just I've seen things he has done that I like. Guerra and BHQ are both cue makers I'd like to try eventually.

i've only played with guerra and BCM cues. they both play pretty well. i would personally go with BCM though. imo it just plays a little better. guerra cues play well too and he uses really pretty wood i just find Bryan Mordts cues really easy to play with and adjusting to using one takes almost no time at all. you can't go wrong with either of those two. i've never played with or seen, in person, a BHQ though so i'm not commenting on those cues.

do us a favor and post a few pictures and a little review when you get the cue you pick. i think we'll all like seeing what you get and your thoughts on it

Not sure if I WILL be buying anything yet lol...

Thats part of why I am asking you guys, as I don't want to bug cuemakers with questions if I am not even a serious buyer yet.

I recently spoke with a local cuemaker that I REALLY wanted a sneaky from, but couldnt fund the purchase w/o selling one of my current cues.... apparently he thought I was jerking him around.

Too bad, as he makes GREAT cues, and from the convo that we had seemed like a super SUPER nice guy.

I dont want to disappoint or mislead anyone in my asking questions.

Also... based on his website, it looks as if BHQ is currently not taking orders :(

BCM. I have known Bryan Mordt for 25+ years. He is meticulous and a perfectionist.

He and I both grew up playing with Southwests, so we both know EXACTLY what we are after in a cue.

Hit is subjective, but they are akin to Southwest, Kersenbrock, Omega, etc, with a lively hit and get thru the ball.

If that is not what you are after...well, Bryan will make you a stellar cue to hang on the mantle. :)

Here is one he just made me:
http://www.bcmcue.com/blog/2013/5/30/bound-for-kansas

As you can see...interesting blog showing quality.

Ive currently have 25+ cues, (3 Southwests, 5 Schons, etc) and this is my everyday player.

Dont let my low/no post count throw you...I logged in just to type this.

SO... because of this thread, the question answered itself!!!

Brent was apparently perusing the forums, saw this and shot me a PM... I just got off the phone after a 45 minute conversation... and my mind is made up, BHQ it is.

I can't say how impressed I am with the fact that a simple thread on a forum prompted a cuebuilder to contact me and not only ask me what I was interested in, but to have a 45 minute phone conversation.

I feel I have not only decided on a builder, but I feel I have made a new friend.
Its awesome to have customer service like that!!!
two thumbs up for the "hillbilly from Ohio" (his words not mine lol)
