Something to think about. Have you?

I know I have. The knowledge here is immense. Learning about matches, watching streams, reading about strategies and physics. Equipment reviews. Access to experts. I know more about the game and play better due to AZ.

Yes, I have also.
I'm lucky because I'm relearning.
I can weed out the garbage easier than a beginner .

Most likely despite it, for me. I learned more and played better when I just played, and didn't have all of these aiming system discussion, and information overload regarding tips and whatnot.

I think if you're serious about your game, you probably avoid this forum like it's anthrax.

Really can't say that I have improved my game by being on AZB but it has kept my head in the game and that is always a good thing.

I think I play a little better because of AZ. I know my cue collection is better. I also have a lot less money...

Yep, I bought (and read) Mark Wilson's book, Play Great Pool, here and my fundamentals have improved a lot.

The Banking with the Beard books got me thinking about banks differently.

Great books that I learned about through AZ!

It's hard for me to imagine anyone who takes part here regularly to not gain valuable knowledge about playing pool.

At minimum, being able to watch the many videos featuring top pros should have us picking up on better patterns and position play as well as improving our safety games. I know it has for me.

Dr. Dave's (and Bob Jewett's) contributions on the physics side provide valuable info that can certainly improve our game.

The access we have to instructors here is also invaluable that if, for instance, you are having a problem with a certain aspect of your game, you can simply shoot a pm to one of them and get a response. How nice is that?!?!

So, yes, AZ has helped to improve my game.

best,

Yes, AZB provides insights and resources that have really changed the way I play for the better. I've also learned quite a bit about cases, chalk, table construction and cloth, cues, tips,, and pool history, I've learned about aiming systems, banking systems, kicking systems, breaking, rack reading and rack fixing. There's all kinds of cool stuff on AZB, too much to mention.

Iv'e picked up a few things from Fran Crimi & a few things from CJ Wiley & just recently a better way to check for a straight stroke from Dr. Dave.

Other than that, nothing else that I could actually put in the tool box to help that I did not already know, other than maybe some drills that I never did like doing so I never really did & still don't do.

That said, I think AZB can be a treasure chest of good info for those that have not played for decades & even some that have.

But like I think Silver Cue said, there is also a lot of crap that has to be shaken off one's boots.

Best Wishes to All.

Yes

I have learned new shots from watching videos on here. I have also tried some things at the table that are discussed here. If a person can weed out some of the comments in regards to the arguing there are some actual really good posts that talk about pool.

One great thing about this game is that there are different ways to do things, whether it is a pattern runout, stance, how you aim, etc. There is no 1 size fits all. There are plenty of different things to read about and try for yourself with all the information that this site provides.

I just discovered AZB as I was coming back from a 10 year break without playing pool. To say this place and the people posting have changed my game would be an understatement.

Every aspect of my game has changed. From breaking to shot selection to how I practice. It has all improved.

I also tore apart my gold crown and successfully replaced the floating nut plates. I NEVER would have thought I could do that on my own. Some great help from the mechanics on here gave me the confidence to tackle the job.

Big shout out to Dr_Dave for his awesome contributions and to all of the mechanics who helped (RKC, fastone, rev, dontlitethat, bigchase).

Without a doubt, yes.

PJ, English, etc. have been very helpful and supportive (in the beginning I was asking some really basic questions ). Dr Dave's stuff is both helpful and interesting. Too many other contributors to name.

I promise to split my prize money with every one of them when I win the US Open (caveat: only applies IF I get paid
