'GAGGING' FINES POLICY HAS FALLEN INTO DISREPUTE
http://www.inside-snooker.com/snooker/2015/11/3/gagging-fines-policy-has-fallen-into-disrepute

If snooker is to thrive and even survive in a fiercely competitive sporting marketplace there has to be a rethink over fining players for relatively innocent comments.

Snooker has to be big enough and thick-skinned enough to take reasonable levels of criticism of the way the game is run, and its leaders, on the chin.

The bigger issue is that if most leading players are so confused about what they can and can’t say without being hit in the pocket they would rather say nothing of real interest, something that clearly harms the long-term future of the sport, then the current disciplinary approach is deeply flawed.

TV Choice
http://www.prosnookerblog.com/2015/11/07/tv-choice/#more-48391

there has been some debate as to the selection of matches for the televised tables at professional events, particularly at European Tour events covered by Eurosport

clearly there does still remain a significant gulf in quality between the elite players at the top of the rankings and even the most promising young amateurs. This gap is of course exacerbated when they meet on televised tables at venues, where the top players used to the lighting, the cameras and the added pressure of being on television against players who might be in that position for the first time

You have video about Ding Junhui's recently incident after he lost to an amateur?

...
The UK Championship is widely regarded as snooker's second biggest event behind the World Championship.

But in 2013 the format changed to a flat draw with 128 players starting in the same round, meaning the early stages involved more tables and more cramped conditions, with four in the main hall and four in the sports hall.

Asked where he thought his match went wrong, Ding said: "It was crap. ****ing four tables and everything is going wrong.

"I don't want to say any more about this. It's just crap. It's for amateurs."

Ding is expected to be fined for his outburst, but further sanctions are unlikely.

No

Ding - Why I love Snooker

UK Championship is his favourite tournament and he loves the Barbican Centre

Fact is, Ding wasn't playing well, and Duffy did a good job of keeping him off the table (from the small portion I watched when they were playing).

Ding won five ranking tournaments last season - Last person to pull off that stunt was Stephen Hendry.
This season Ding hasn't done much - probably frustrated - I know the game does that to me.:D

HE got handed his head by an amateur. He was upset. The wallpaper probably offended him too. Hey! The other guy outplayed him!
