Hello.

Can anyone provide more info about Joss cue model Dyn06?
Cue was made in 2003, I suppose for Dynamic Billard from Germany.

Waiting a reply from Joss, but maybe somebody could give more info.
Thank you.

Got the answer from Joss, they don't remember what materials were used in this cue.

Are there any chance that black wood in forearm could be ebony?

No offense but if the maker can't tell you how are we going to? Does it play good? I wouldn't concern myself too much. Not a collector JOSS. A good player.

I think maybe somebody had the same cue, or maybe an old catalogue, who knows?
I want to buy the cue, didn't have a chance to play with it.

I'm really surprised that JOSS couldn't tell if they used ebony(or not) in this cue. From your pic it looks like it but so does my stained maple Mezz.

Any idea if that cue is a half splice cue?

Being a Joss, it's a short splice.

But it wouldn't have an A joint as is traditional. It would have a stepped core with the butt sleeve, handle, and forearm sleeved over. The joint collar and butt cap are threaded on and hold the sleeved components in compression.

Though they have done some conversions, I don't think they have ever made full splice.

Got the cue.
Wood in forearm and butt sleeve is a dark brown one. IMO is ebony, nice texture, butt nothing crazy. Points are sharp and made from birdseye maple.

Despite the fact that cue have a ebony forearm, cue don't play very stiff, it have the same hit as a maple forearm cue.

From what I found, sharp points are quite rare for Joss production cues.
