Figured Narra, aka New Guinea Rosewood, Sale/Trade.

It's figured thru and thru and every inch of the wood you would get is usable. The grain is mostly straight. They are 1 3/8" squares or rounded once. As you know, when it comes to this wood it can be described in many ways, plain, figured, Bees Wing and Amboyna Burl among them.

The 10 pieces in the pictures are 30" long and it's $200 plus shipping. Enough to make 10 butt sections.

16 pieces in squares 28" -30" long would be the same $200 plus shipping. Enough to make 16 complete butt sections.

I am always in need of quality joint, butt and ferrule material. Uniloc radial pins. BEM with straight grain, AB, Coco and all good Rosewoods.

Best to call me at the number below if you have any questions.

How heavy is this wood Dave?

Thanks

You know the answer JC, it's in the Wood Data Base . com.

For those who do not, see that website, it's awesome.

The weight of Figured Narra is very close to the Maples we use.

Check out the shrinkage comparisons.

Narra;
Shrinkage:*Radial: 2.8%, Tangential: 4.0%, Volumetric: 6.9%, T/R Ratio: 1.4

Hard Maple;
Shrinkage:*Radial: 4.8%, Tangential: 9.9%,*Volumetric: 14.7%, T/R Ratio: 1.9

Tone quality? Instrument Grade and with the straight grain it's top quality for sound.

Gilmerwood . com sells it for about twice what I am asking.

Any more questions?

Please call like the listing says, Thanks.

I find the wood database to be way off on some species which is why I measure and weigh all my wood so I know it's actual weight per square foot. Not what it should weigh but what it actually does. The variance from tree to tree can be stunning. Was hoping you knew the quick answer to the weight of the actual pieces you have.

Sorry for not calling but it's hard to know here at the shop when I can have a conversation and when I have to hang up immediately after you answer the phone because a customer walks in the door.

Good looking wood though.
