Tighter pockets

SVB was one of the players Oscar beat on his path to victory. SVB finished 5th/6th.

I can't find any significant conflicting event. The World 14.1 event started a day after TS ended. A Seminole Pro Tour event was the week before in Florida, and the World Cup of Pool started in Manila 9 days after TS ended; SVB did play in both of those.

I stand by my statement, any player on this planet that can run out from anywhere on a 9ft Diamond with 3 7/8th" corner pockets, should have no problem dominating any field of players no matter who they are....playing on Diamonds with 4 1/2" Procut pockets....but that just not the case with Oscar, and for someone to claim he can is full of BS.

Yes. I was just correcting your statements about the tournaments. I agree with your sentiments regarding 3 7/8" pockets, etc.

On a recent tournament stream, some chatters were talking about how tight they have made the pockets on their own tables. It always kind of amuses me that some intermediate-level amateurs want such tight pockets. On the chat I said something to the effect that I have never seen a pool player who was "too good" for a 9-foot Diamond table with 4½" pro-cut corner pockets.

I would further add to that, if a player never misses as shot on a Diamond with Procut pockets, then that player is for sure ready to practice with tighter pockets, but until such time....they need to keep practicing NOT to miss until they can play all day and night without missing a single shot....but thats just not the case. And the funny thing is, when they do miss....it's by a mile in most cases.

Not saying it was a walk in the park, but quite a few of the world beaters were not playing in it as there was a conflicting tournament going on at the same time in which a lot of the best players on the planet decided to play in, the Filipino players as well as the Taiwanese players and the Chinese players, as well as SVB

You may be the weakest, most envious (ie; jealous) poor sport, in the history of pool!..I am 100% with Atlarge, in his explanation of what actually took place! (see his post #60)...Oscar and Ernesto are not only top notch table mechanics, they also both play much better pool than you ever did!..If you want to belly up and bet some real $$$$..I'm your hucklebherry!

PS..You're probably safe though..I doubt they would even waste their time, showing you how wrong you really are!..They have way to much class for that!

So, now you're a judge of pool table mechanics...don't you think you should know something about that before you can judge?

Don't blame me for pip9ball claiming Oscar runs out from everywhere on a Diamond with 3 7/8ths corner pockets, I just called BS when I read it.

Sorry, but I guess I am really confused?.....What on earth does all your negative, BS claims have to do with BETTING SOMETHING? ..........Its a good thing you do good table work..You are sure not very good at answering simple questions! :sorry:

I'm sorry....what was the bet again, that even if you took a double dose of Viagra it still won't get the job done?

We might be able to bet on that too! (but I would have to tell my body guard to back off, and let the girls have their way with me) :D :D

4 1/4 is not that tight at all. I frequently play on Oscar and Ernesto Dominguez personal diamonds dialed in at 3 7/8 and watch them run out like it's nothing. As others have said, center pocket is the same no matter what size. The only issue with tight pockets is you need to leave yourself good angles... But I'd take that over buckets any day 1

Don't they change the corner pocket angles as well?

Glen, if you had half a brain and knew how to read, I said Oscar frequently runs out on his table at home with 3 7/8 pockets. Playing on familiar equipment is a whole lot different than playing in a tournament. I still stand by my original statement and I'll bet whatever you can muster up that he'll run out on his table. So unless you are going to bet something, please stop embarrassing yourself and don't reply.

If you would like to bet, I spoke to Oscar a few minutes ago and he welcomes you to his home. I'll even provide free streaming to whoever wants to sweat the bet. The only thing I ask is to bet minimum of 5k to make everyone's time worth it.

After he's done, Ernesto can show you how to recover and level a table in 2 hours...instead of the 12 it took you to do mine wrong.

I'm 100% serious. We can have a neutral party hold the funds and get this bet rolling. I will no longer respond anything on this thread unless it's you wanting to post up.

If not, don't comment and this thread will die along with your balls.

Center pocket is still the same regardless what pocket we're talking about. Take a pencil or something straight and tape it to the back of the pocket along the center line of the pocket. I now add shims to both sides. The pencil doesn't move therefore center is the same

They do change the angle of the pocket to be straight. I don't recall the exact angle but I can find out next week

Funny thing about who can show who what, last time I met Ernesto I was the one showing him how to get the broken rail bolts out of Olhausen rails because his way was crazy, who would ever try drilling out broke off rail bolts with a drill when my way, the way I showed Ernesto how to fix the rails....was 10x better and faster....ask him yourself....LOL and teach me how to level a pool table....you must be joking right....LMAO....I don't use a carpet level to do that...LOL

Perhaps you did show him. Without fail you comment in every thread of this type trumpeting how your skills are so superior to everyone else's.

Has anyone ever pointed to you that the loudest man in the room is generally the weakest man in the room?

Thanks. From what I've seen, they reduce that flare/taper quite a bit.

Depends on which pockets you're looking at, take your little miter gage with you next time you go out to a pool room some where and see if you can find a table with the same miter angles on both sides of the pockets being the same in all 4 corners:cool:
