Thumbs up To: JAM & Keith - 02-20-2006, 12:39 PM

I just want to say how great it was to see both of you again and look forward to seeing you at the Golden Cue next month when Keith comes to defend his crown and to see if Keith can make it 3 years in a row.
I also want to say how proud i am of knowing both of you and i am proud to see that Keith is getting his game back where it belongs. Also great to see Keith on the straight and narrow and getting his game back. I personally think that JAM has a great deal to do with that. The old saying goes that "behind every successful man is a woman" And JAM. you are that woman and you should hold your head up high and be proud. Keep up the good work girl. Keith is worth all the confidence that you have in him............mike

I wasn't there but I've been to enough tournaments to know that Keith was not and will not be the first to ever have this happen. This is the 2nd thread that I've seen so far since I got home this evening that you've brought this up. I hope it's the last.

At EVERY tournament from UPA events to Tiger Planet Pool events, I've seen this happen. EVERY ONE OF THEM. It's part of the game. If you had the pool prowess that some of these guys do then you too would want to make sure that you had a good rack.

It's not always enjoyable to watch but it always happens. It comes with the territory. Deal with it or don't watch it. Either way, there's no need to go through multiple threads and pick on Keith as if he's the only pool player to have ever done this.

Originally, the post you quoted was going to be the only one I made on the subject. But then I posted in the other thread. This one, an attempt at sarcasm, failed miserably. For that you and all others here have my sincerest apologies.

All other posts about the topic my original post alluded to shall be kept elswhere and in one thread. I've since edited my post in this thread, you'll note, as well.

You are right, I was wrong to post my attempt at sarcasm, and I apologize.

I didn't delete my own post. I edited it, and Timberly's quote includes the entirety of my original post. If you cannot accept my apology for the tone of the original post, that's fine by me.

Timberly, thanks for trying to lay out the facts on what goes on at all events. It's a sad reality of 9-ball, the old racking dilemma. BTW, I'll show you that beautiful Native American purse next time I see you on the tournament trail, which hopefully will be soon! My picture sharing is at an end now because I don't enjoy it anymore like I used to.

It is unfortunate when uninformed posters attempt to degrade pool players, especially one of AzBilliards' so-called "pros." Do you think Keith feels like posting about his experience now, or myself for that matter? I am still in shock, but maybe not surprised after reading some of Iacas' comments.

For the record, though, after the tournament concluded, Keith and Mika were enjoying themselves to the fullest in the lobby of the Turning Stone Casino with Raj Hundal, AzBilliard's Aaron, and Frankie White. Mika and Keith have a mutual admiration for each other and remain good friends. When Aaron brought over that blue bubbly stuff, everybody gave a toast to the Joss/Turning Stone event. It was, in fact, a great tournament. Congratulations to Thorsten Hohmann for his fine win.

JAM, that's exactly what I logged on this morning hoping to read. I'd been marooned offline since Saturday morning, couldn't get upstate, but after seeing the draw and some early results, thought Keith might make another great run.

So I was happy for Keith when I saw the AZ homepage, then bummed when I see what should've been his moment in sun turn into a steaming pile of carping and nitpicking. More reports after the smoke clears, maybe?

Nice job iacas

Following your first big time tourney you voice your opinion which has the effect of offending one of the most valuable and prolific contributors on this site.

May I suggest in the near future you go to as many big time tournaments as you can, watch as many matches and listen to as many players in and around matches as you can, explore the many facets of the diverse pool community. Sit back reflect and keep your mouth shut for a decade or two.

That’s just my opinion

Completely agree.

From reading all of this the only person who should have a problem is Mika and evidently he does not.

JAM, you can't let one or two people kill the fun and on a purely selfish note, take away our fun

Stick around because there are plenty more on here who enjoy your posts.

See you in about 3 weeks

JAM
I started this thread cuz of what i call my friendship with both you and Keith and to express how proud i am of both of you. I have been to a thousand tournaments and yes at times racking is a problem. Like the 1 in the finals at the Golden Cue. Keith put his opponent right in his place right from the beginning. Which i feel he had every right to do. Any player does if his opponent has a rep for giving bad racks. But anyway, i am glad to see that you both made it home ok. See you next month and take care...........................mike

I just read the results on the home page, and wanted to say congratulations to Keith! It's wonderful to see him playing so well. JAM, I hope to meet you someday, as you have my utmost respect as a writer, a railbird (lol) and a person - based on your posts alone!
