Are there any cues with lots of paua/abalone? Post them up. I have something in the works and would love to see others.

So you say you have a cue with Pau Lau inlays underway..........Me too!
Mine will be completed by end of June. It has >100 Pau Lau & Ivory inlays
just for the sleeve design alone. Naturally, the cue's joint and shaft rings
have matching Pau Lau & Ivory rings so there's truly a lot of Pau Lau in the
cue underway that's still 5 mths. from completion (I ordered the cue 9 mths ago).

p.s. See my surgeon on Wednesday & learn how my surgery last week fared.
Of my 5 rotator cuff surgeries, this one has been the worst post surgical recovery.
Maybe that's a sign that it got fixed and will hold up this time and not fail like before.

Mine has no ivory, just loooots of paua. Going to be awesome or hideous.

The design I ordered has ivory stitch collars that sandwich the Pau Lau abalone inlays.
The challenge with Pau Lau is that some of it can be dark and with an ebony sleeve,
some of the inlays may not stand out. Anyway, my cue-maker came up with a novel way
to deal with that and he's he's modifying the design. I am amazed at what he told me he
will attempt. And like ideologist, got my fingers crossed my cue turns out as well as I hope.

This is what will be in the cue, absolutely stunning.

(These are just a couple of cutoffs, not inlays)

Paua shell is beautiful. Don't have a cue with inlays, but I do have ring work made from Paua, silver & Ivory(not real ivory, forget what its actually called, Pat Diveney made the cue) The ringwork made me fall in love with the cue, in person, the reflection off the rings is stunning.
