He knows caroms as most already know, but this particular game will teach you cue ball control for Pool like no other IMO since total focus is on getting to the second ball. In pool, like Billiards shot success/failure is defined after the second rail or in the case of pool, whatever your CB target happens to be. A rail, a ball, or a specific place. 1 rail is the nuts for teaching CB Control.
Yes of course I'm pushing players to get on a carom table or pressure room owners to put one in their room. But this can be practiced on a pool table. Avoiding the pockets will just add to the difficulty in some cases. In competition on a pool table maybe if a ball drops you're penalized. Or maybe rewarded. Take your pick.
