Designs on Table Material

Just got back from the casino and was playing roulette, noticed the table had similar cloth to a pool top. I was amazed at how decorated and colored it was.

If the table cloth on a billiard table had designs on it, what markings would be beneficial?

The only one I would want is markings between diamonds, I like halfs and fourths.

If possible maybe even path lines for common routes on the table.

Just don't know how pool players feel about a pool cloth aid.

Here's a company that will do it for you:

$900 or so for a 9-foot worsted cloth.

Easier to just put donuts on the table. Some serious practicers mark out diamond or half-diamond grids. I recommend a tailor's pencil for that.

Pool cloth is very different from the felt used on most gaming tables.

Thanks everyone.

I guess it’s a bad idea.

How about two hour invisible ink ?

This way I can change the table layout as needed.

Do you really want lines on your table?

If so, I put lines on my cloth with white tailors chalk when the cloth was almost new. I later went over the lines with a magic marker, as I was sure I liked them. 8 year later, they are still visible and have held up great.

Also an option now is one of the projection systems, where you can project any Digital image onto the table, including grid lines.

And finally, as Bob mentioned, doughnuts are the easiest to install, and easiest to remove, if you change your mind.

Having a design printed into the cloth IDK how well it would work, because the installers would have to line it up perfectly during cloth installation.

Thanks my budget is for a low end approach.

I never thought to use chalk, I will try it out for awhile.
