The World Games, which includes cue sports, which was scheduled for July 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama, have been postponed to July 2022 because the Olympic Summer Games have been moved into July 2021.

Here is an article about the President of the International World Games Association recovering from COVID-19: https://www.theworldgames.org/news/The-World-Games-17/President-Perurena-back-at-home-2009

Edit: The 2022 World Games will be July 7-17. The billiard events (9-ball, 3-cushion, snooker) will be July 13-17.

The ACS Board regrets to announce that the ACS must cancel its Omega Billiards 2020 ACS National Championships scheduled for the Tropicana Las Vegas, May 9-16. While the Tropicana in Las Vegas may reopen by the dates needed to set-up and produce these Championships, we project the restrictions which casinos will be required to follow in May, and many weeks thereafter, will make the production of our gathering impossible.

For all members who made plans to attend (and we were projecting another record turnout!) and are staying at the host property and reserved under the ACS block using the ACS-specific passkey https://book.passkey.com/go/AmericanCueSports2020, the Tropicana will be automatically canceling your reservations and refunding any deposits made. Those who reserved their rooms at the Tropicana using others means such as player rewards, Hilton points, etc. should use their original email confirmation to request a refund from the Tropicana. In addition, the ACS administrative office will be refunding all entry fees to the original funding source, in full, minus any PayPal or credit card fees charged to the ACS. These refunds will be processed and remitted between mid-April and mid-May.

2019-20 league year ACS State Championship Teams that took advantage of the free entry perks for the 2020 Nationals will be honored for the 2021 ACS Nationals. State Championship Teams will be refunded their 2020 ACS Nationals fees and must resubmit entries in the same manner for the 2021 ACS Nationals. We request that all team members still qualify in ACS-sanctioned leagues during the 2020-21 ACS league year that begins June 1, 2020.

We can only hope that you can understand the difficult decision we made. Everyone – players, staff and Directors – looks forward to seeing old friends and enjoys the ambience, competition, entertainment and energy generated at the ACS Nationals every year…all of which will be sorely missed. We apologize for any inconvenience to our attendees. Airlines are being flexible with transfer, refund and voucher policies, and in some cases you might want to reschedule your flights for 2021, when we’ll reconvene in a big way at the ACME ACS Nationals, May 15-23, at the Tropicana Las Vegas!

The World Pool Championship (Matchroom promotion, 9-ball, 128 players, venue not set yet) has been postponed from October until January 6-10, 2021. Good that it doesn't overlap DCC.

The BCA Expo:

2020 BCA Home and Leisure Expo Cancelled
VirtuALL Event Planned For Late July
Superior, Colo., May 13, 2020 - The Billiard Congress of America today announced that the annual exposition that celebrates the business of billiards and home recreation is cancelled for the first time since the Expo began in 1984 due to the ongoing concerns of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Recognizing that hundreds of attendees plan for this Expo each year, as well as how many exhibitors and sponsors rely upon this event for a major portion of their livelihood, we have hoped that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by late summer," Billiard Congress of America Chairman, Brian Igielski said. "Continuous monitoring of health advisories by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the WHO and the appropriate organizations in Las Vegas have made it clear that it is not possible to move forward with the 2020 BCA Expo."

In place of the BCA Expo this year, the Billiard Congress of America will host a BCA ViturALL Expo and Business of Billiards Education Series during the same week as the BCA Expo was planned (July 29-31). The BCA's VirtuALL event will include a series of educational webinars that will provide tips on managing businesses during this pandemic as well as guidance on the "new normal" facing the industry. The VirtuALL expo will also allow product showcase videos from any manufacturer in the industry who has participated in past BCA Expos and is a current BCA member. The BCA will be in contact with all 2020 BCA Expo contracted exhibitors in the very near future to discuss the VirtuALL Expo and 2020 BCA Expo deposits.

"Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures, and while we are saddened to take this action of changing the live BCA Expo this year in Las Vegas to a virtual event, we know it is the right decision," says BCA CEO Rob Johnson. "However, we are also excited to present the BCA's VirtuALL event to assist our industry with needed education and promotion of our industry's innovative products. We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all get together in person to do business, renew relationships and make new connections via the BCA Expo."
