I have a spool, approximately 3 oz (5-7 wraps, perhaps more) of vintage Holland Thread Co, linen. This is the linen used on Balabushka and Szamboti, Palmer and Burton Spain cues in the 1960's. If you are restoring one of these classic cues, this is the linen you want to duplicate the original. It is virtually impossible to locate but I have this spool from the Spain estate (got it with eight 4 and 8 point forearms back in the 90's). I restored a couple Szamboti's back then, haven't used the linen since. It is clean, kept wrapped. This linen is slightly smaller than modern linen, .018 compared to .025, is unwaxed and very soft. $200 for the spool (no, I won't run off a single wrap).
