I suppose it was just a matter of time before someone was just crazy enough to try to duplicate...

First off, in this case, I am a hypocrite. I own a cue that was made for me by another maker that has micro rings like Daves. Even with that being so, I don't like seeing a cue maker use another's design signature. Good examples are the Black Boar crown butt cap and Ed Prewitt's pau shell rings. Thing is, the guys that copied these things have plenty of talent and creativity with no need to copy anyone.

What if Tony got the idea for his butt cap from another makers cue? Pretty sure its been done in one form or another long before Tony did it, Schick and Black come to mind.
Im pretty sure there is a thread about the history of the scalloped butt cap(I'm to lazy to search) if memory serves someone was talking about Crisp doing something similar and the tread evolved from there.

I am aware of the others who used this in the past. Fact is, Tony shaped his perfectly and made it his signature. Nobody else did that.
