Several factors outside of the pool scene itself that led to the demise of this resurgence: Casino gaming expansion across the U.S., rise of Poker popularity and it's subsequent adoption by ESPN, massive expansion of the internet/video gaming/cell phone usage by the 10 to 30 year old group in the U.S. and the resultant loss of attention span to the detriment of most recreational endeavors that require dedicated practice time and study.
Will the attention deficit disorder that now exists in our youth someday become such a massive issue to the future of our country that sociologists and psychologists lead a movement to bring back activities to stimulate vital focus and concentration skills that have become so hyper- eroded in our society by the rapid advances of technology- Billiards could be one of the activities chosen to help restore these rapidly deteriorating skills in our youth, in fact it would be IDEAL! I say that THIS may be the key to a billiard revival here in the U.S. will it ever happen??

MATCHROOM Sports makes a great product, the Mosconi Cups, World Pool Masters and World Cup Of Pool are all shot in HD and have great announcers. They need to get them on Netflix. Especially the Mosconi Cups.
