East Brunswick, New Jersey- "Captain Hook" Mike Sigel will head straight pool legends Allen Hopkins, Bobby Hunter, and Danny Barouty at the 2008 Predator World Straight Pool Championship held at the Hilton East Brunswick, NJ from Aug 25-30,2008. Sigel, Hunter, and Hopkins were all former World 14.1 champions.
Mike Sigel amassed a number of World Straight Pool titles and US Open 14.1 titles during the 80's and considered by many of his peers as the man to beat in straight pool in his prime. Hopkins, with many 300 ball runs, was also a huge target during that time. Hunter was the last American to win the title back in 1990, nearly twenty years ago. Danny Barouty, one of the finest 14.1 players ever to come out of NYC, will look to improve on his 9th place finish last year including a notable win against Thorsten Hohmann of Germany.
Both Sigel and Hopkins are Hall of Fame inductees.
