I may have posted this here before...so many forums, so little time...but I didn't find it with a search so here goes.
Paper Chase (my name...probably not an original idea) works as follows.
Get a 3x5 card...any piece of paper will do but the cards don't curl up.
Break or throw out 6-8 balls depending on your speed and begin to plan your route.
Before you shoot, place the paper where you want the CB to end up. Trying to get to the paper is why I call it the Paper Chase.
Be SURE to place the paper on the correct side of the Fault Line...which is the line that, if crossed, may leave you a shot but one that is on the "wrong side".
You often see pros pointing their cues to the spot they want to land on and this is just a more compelling visual to use as a target.
Just keep moving the card to the next ideal position after each shot.
You may not land on the card all that often but it gives you an obvious target and more importantly, FORCES you to think in terms of not only playing shape for a makable shot but the CORRECT makable shot on the proper side of the fault line.
Please feel free to post a credit to whomever thought this up originally. I've seen losts of drills where you target a piece of paper on individual shots but can't recall seeing one where the paper keeps moving along with the runout...although I'm sure someone else thought this up.
Regards,
Jim
