Would love to go ... and almost can because the major condition has been met:

a) Wife is busy out of town.:)

Other condition is almost as tricky, though:

b) I have care of 2 1/2-year-old twins for the weekend and Turning Stone tells me that, unlike some casinos, they don't offer child care.

Then again, if Melanie Archer were to be on the scene with her's and Johnny's young'n ... who, in fact, already wrestled around a little with my son at a tourney in Queens the summer before last ... this time I could bring my daughter along, too! Call it a long-distance play date!

Guess that makes me a serious longshot.

We'll be there Wednesday night, Raodwarior!:)

Here's a link to the thread Dana Bufalo started with the names of all 128 players in the event. I added some pictures: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=25978

Did you show up at the last Joss/Turning Stone tournament in August? Your name rings a bell in my faulty, almost-52-year-old memory. :p

Here's a nice snapshot of the players practicing up in the tournament room on the eve before the event. Check out the elevated seating and padded chairs in the aisleway. Plenty of room and not a bad seat in the house!

Here's a pic taken during the players meeting when everybody gathered around to listen to Joss TD Mike Zuglan providing the tournament rules.

Check out that big box of bottled water in the foreground, which, BTW, was FREE to all. The Turning Stone Casino likes pool people.:)

Here's a snapshot of Dana Bufalo's pick to win the whole shebang, one of New York State's toughest competitors, Dennis Hatch who is posing with his lovely lady!

New York State boasts some of the BEST players in the land, and one of New Yorks' best-kept secrets is Spanish Pete, shown here posing with Keith McCready. Spanish Pete is a regular on the Joss Tour tournament trail, and he's always a formidable opponent in any venue. He'll be one to watch on the horizon.

I'll see you next week, Dana, and can't wait to get out of Dodge City (D.C.). :p

Here's a picture of Dana keeping the charts up to date and the tournament running smoothly. Dana Bufalo is a Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour supporter, and not only does he help Mike Zuglan with the charts during the event, but the players enjoy Dana's pleasant personality, always brandishing a smile! :)

I'm going. Booked my spot at the Lodge last night for Saturday night. So I hope to see some action on Saturday and Sunday.

This will be the first event I'm attending, so I hope that I'm able to figure out how to get the most out of it.

Where can you use a camera? Just about anywhere?

At the Lodge! :) Wow, you're going to REALLY enjoy your stay at the Turning Stone. I could only look at the pictures of the Lodge, and it was absolutely gorgeous! You are a lucky duck!:)

Well, you can use a camera in the tournament room WITHOUT a flash. However, as in most casinos, picture-taking is prohibited in the TABLE GAME area.

Get ready for one of the BEST events of the year. The venue is absolutely exquisite, FREE admission to all, impeccable lodging facilities, and, of course, the pool action will be top shelf.

BTW, no alcohol served at the Turning Stone, but you are welcome to drink there if you bring your own and consume it in a cup, not the original container. There are designated smoking areas throughout.

See you there! :)

Is there any kind of schedule I can see (or print off)? I'm mostly curious when the matches will be played so I can plan things as best I can. I won't be there strictly for the pool.

A little off topic...

My advice to anybody who's going is to check out Rodizio. It's a brazilian barbeque restaurant at the top of the escalators between the casino floor and the hotel. If you like meat you won't be disappointed. One of the best meals of my life there. A little pricey, but considering it's exceptional food and it's all you can eat, it can definitely be worth your while. Check it out at:
